Having worked with and owned Arabians, I felt so badly for Beau when he came in. I thought for sure he'd never make it through his intake day, but when he did, I have been just gobsmacked in love with him ever since. It's been wonderful watching him regain his health. I'm horrified at the obvious trauma reactions to bits and English saddles. I always rode English, so I would have worked with him to regain his trust and confidence with them if he was mine. I've worked with other abused/traumatized Arabs, and once they give you their trust, they will literally walk through fire for you (been there, done that!).
I am REALLY going to miss Beau, but I'm so happy a real Arab person is taking him home, because I can tell she sees in him what I see in him. An honest horse, fearful because humans have betrayed his trust, but reachable. He has a good mind, is sensitive, responsive, attentive, and wants to please. I think Audrey is the perfect match for Beau, and I'm so happy he'll go into her program to help vets. It couldn't have been a better outcome for this spectacularly gorgeous Arabian gelding. I'm so happy for them both.

What a miraculous recovery for Beau. An absolutely beautiful horse. What he must have suffered!!! The veterans will appreciate Beau's fears and help him as I am sure Beau will appreciate the veterans. Winston Churchill said - "When you are going through hell, keep going." Well done Beau - well done veterans. Thank you to the lady who will now protect Beau.

I am glad that he is going to be helping others who have been through terrifying times and come out on the other side to prosper. Good for him, and good for all the vets who will benefit from his life experiences. Thanks, veterans, for all you have given, and thank you Horse Plus for saving Beau to bring him to them.

Arabs are amazing horses. Beau is definitely an Egyptian Arabian with that big dished beautiful head and refined body. If she has some bigger riders, she might want to look into getting a couple of Polish Arabians, there more stout and a little thicker. I've owned both, and their great. So happy for this gorgeous horse 🐴. Love and God Bless to all 💜 ✝️ Jennifer

Beau is such a smart horse, he only needs a bit of love and patience to work through his issues. You can see how clearly he was abused, especially the state he came in, but even with that you can see he wants to trust. There's a stranger with two foreign sticks around him but he knew she meant him no harm, was super careful and responsive to her, I wouldn't be surprised if in his own thoughts he knew she was more delicate than the others around him. I'm sure he's going to have a fantastic life once he learns to trust people again

He was so awesome with her leg in the brace. He didn't try to walk over her and when she showed him what she wanted, he caught on. She wants to get use him for veterans and like some, he too has a bit of PTSD so they can heal each other.
Glad he went to a great home where he will help others. Having her grow up with Arabians is even better.

How old is Beau, I missed that somehow.. So happy for him! The day he arrived I cried as I thought that Dr Lydia and Dr Gina were going to have to give him the Last Act of Kindness right there in the off load area! I think HIS story should be a "feature" on HP given the whole of it, he arrived in a condition that could be described as on death's door after being down in a crowded trailer for goodness knows how long, then springing back from that is a miracle truly, then he is a gorgeous pure bred Arabian and one has to ask how does a horse so well bred and beautiful end up in the horrific situation he was in? The last Egyptian Arabian I had came from a yearling newly gelded sale in Scottsdale AZ. They sell off when they have too many stud colts or have too many that are not flash enough for the show rings. I paid THOUSANDS because he was was from a prominent Egyptian bloodline, he was halter trained and did pick up his feet, but has beautiful as his conformation was, he was not flash enough for the ranch to keep. I found out really quick that pure bred Arabians of quality are NOT like other breeds. I am so happy for BEAU, I looked up the organization that he went to and made a donation in his name. He connected with the woman almost immediately. She will have him doing the Arabian "ballet" by four months from now and I am going to go to her site frequently to check on just that. But back to the "story" angle, he went to a VETERANS organization for help them with their PSTD and he is going to get HIS healing there to get over whatever horrible things happened to him! It's a great story and I think when you get special horses you should give them a full vlog of their own and continue to follow them as best as you can to show that they not only found love, but purpose and in Beau's case for sure will bless the lives of many Vets. I get it that some adopters may not want you poking in later after the adoptions, but in this case, I think Tawnee should get with this organization , the lady that came to take in Beau and ask for permission to follow up and perhaps even have her organization provide some "vlogs" of Beau, and some videos of the vets that get to ride him in the upcoming endurance rides. I know some of HP adoptions have been to people who have disabled programs for kids and etc. These stories is they could be followed somewhat would be GREAT PR for the reasons these rescued animals need help and have so much to give to help people. I am not a PR minded person, but I just know that there is a story here with Beau and perhaps other horses that have passed through HP that might help to get more donations as well when it is shown what happens AFTER they are saved and adopted.

I’m really disheartened by some of the comments about the woman who adopted Beau. The most responsible thing to do is ask questions and get to know an animal before you commit to it. It’s not responsible to take an animal just because of their beauty and ignore their behavioral traits. Not to mention, we see short clips of what happened when they could’ve spent hours there for all we know. HPHS seems very transparent and has high morals when deciding whether to adopt out an animal to someone. I’m glad Beau has a second chance at a good life where he can have a job and maybe heal a few hearts along the way.

Beau got adopted for a very important job and his Arabian soul will help him succeed. Arabs are very good at relating to people around them. They are smart , gentle, and just plain good horses!

I am just so happy for Beau!!!! I cried my eyes out when he fell off that truck! It is truly amazing what your organization is doing for these horses! I just wish I had the land to adopt one.... Keep up the good work!

Garfield is such a purer; such a handsome boy! Beau is very striking, love that little dab of white. I always love to see what’s happening with Lilly & Sage.
