If you ask me it makes more sense for the Scary Monsters Leitmioff for Dr Ferdinand since it’s technically his stand and Diego was just infected by it. This was amazing and the song actually makes perfect sense since the most part of this arc is a race against time for Johnny and Gyro before they turn to dinosaurs too. Plus all the people and animals Diego transformed prior to the chase.
@Jojo Fan Actually Diego's true Stand is The World, even in the base universe, it's just that the dinosaur virus altered his body in such a way to make him "gain" control over Scary Monsters's ability when he got his first corpse part.
@Jojo Fan I literally just read through the Scary Monsters arc. The virus is manipulative, yes, but remember that Stands are a personification of a person's soul and mentality. Being taken over and controlled by the virus changes Diego's body and mind, causing his soul to be altered by the experience as well. Diego would have hated being manipulated like that, and knowing Diego he would have wanted to exploit that level of control. As such, the corpse gave him total control over the thing that took away all of his control, superceding the latent Stand ability of The World in him to give him that desired control he wanted. Stands do that a lot. See the reason Stands are almost certainly the same across universes is the fact that with everyone else, it's consistent. Johnny always has Tusk, though not always up to Act IV, Hot Pants always has Cream Starter, etc. So... why doesn't AU Diego have Scary Monsters? It's because that's not the Stand that is inherently tied to his soul, The World is. I imagine if Diego had gotten to the corpse before Ferdinand had gotten to Diego that Diego would have developed The World and not taken over Scary Monsters.
