For a spinning reel in the $100 range, I highly recommended the Daiwa fuego lt. It is a very smooth and dependable reel, especially for the price. In the $150 range, nothing beats the new Shimano ultegra. If you really want to treat yourself in the $200 range get a Shimano Stradic reel. I have the ci4 model, super smooth, light, an an outstanding drag. And it’s lasted me 2 seasons and still feels as smooth as the day I bought it. Highly recommend any of theses reels, they are all great choices regardless of the price.
