Hi Ian… beautifully built by you…. When I see the cabling and the detail of running these cables, it all starts to look daunting as a build!! Your experience makes this looks easy but it’s not to get the build to this level …. Notice Mark from Bude here!! Did not know he was into helis !! Great community… Great film .. Thanks Michael
Well Michael, you will never no unless you have a go!! It is a bit daunting!! But no more than starting to fly again, and look how well you coped with that Lol thanks for watching and commenting 😀👍
@@IansRCExploits Well your inspired my whole journey into the hobby after two false starts when I never got to fly .. so I will do this when my finds allow after watching your video … so inspiring me again 😊
Hi Ian mark from bude club, just purchased a 470lm belt drive, looking forward to the soldering of the connectors, and rest of build,it will be my first RC helicopter build.
@@michaelworrall6804 hi Mike, yes I was just trying it out, for the club, never posted on you tube before, may get some footage next year, but will use a decent recording device.ive also got to find out how to do photos, probably see you at the field next year.
Wow great build Ian, didn't realize the effort to build a chopper from a kit. Looking forward to the maiden flight and beyond, great series Sir, Jeff in LA USA
That part with the pinion and the main gear, i was wondering how to adjust it. Oh men, really nice tric with that peace of paper👌😁. Looking good😍. Great job with the cables, nice orientation! Those antennes from the receiver are long, did i see it right? That satellite receiver don't have an antenna Ian? So, tomorrow, maiden flight😆 haha
how is the satellite Rx polarized?,i dont know anything about those but you have put both your main antennas horizontally polarized. At the range that will be flow at it likely wont matter but ideal antenna polarization is both horizontal and vertical as there is a huge loss when a craft banks and the Rx and Tx antennas become out of phase. Tx antennas should be vertical due to the radiation pattern of dipoles, having them horizontal fires 50% of the RF towards the ground and there is a pretty significant low spot straight out from the tip of the antenna. Again, at the ranges you fly its likely never going to be an issue but that is the ideal configuration and even at my medium range flights which max at 3 miles, i could easily have RF loss if i didnt put thought into my antenna positioning, those who fly long range have put huge thought into antennas!
I haven't fixed my antennas into place yet, I explained in the video that they would be fixed at 90 degrees to each other!! The satelite receiver is antenaless.
@@IansRCExploits I thought you meant that the antennas would be 90 degrees from each other but both horizontal, that's why I said about vertical and horizontal and asked about the satellite. What does the satellite do? I thought they were like a redundant second rx?
@@IansRCExploits Ahh, so i wasn't confused! R9 supports redundancy but as far as i know there are no compact redundant units like that, you just connect a second Rx to the main one but ive never used it and probably never will given the price of Rx's lol but i can see its value when people are using it for long range flights many miles out or with a very valuable craft. Your 500 would come under valuable, i dont know exactly what they cost but i know an actual Align 500 is going to be serious £££
@@IansRCExploits Bloody hell!! You could buy a perfectly servicable car for that, i need to pick my jaw up now! i paid just under that for a 62,000 Mile V6 mondeo with leather interior and many creature comforts and on year 5 of ownership. I might have errm, cough, spent in excess of £2k on the audio system in it though, us blokes and our toys lol.
Very professional Ian, nicely done 👍
Thanks Cliff 😀👍

Just start off flying a RTF one first!! Have you flown your 150s yet Michael ?
It is very nice Ian, Very well built. 😁😄
Thanks Jason!! Just the set up now 😒

Hi Mark, the 470lm is very similar to the 500 I've just built, good luck with the build 😀👍
Hi Mark !!! Just been talking to Ian .. Have not seen you for ages and Ian tells me you have a channel ??? Michael

Ian such a great job. Man you really know heli's. Sounds like setting up the gyro is crazy complicated. Looking forward to your maiden!
Thanks Adam, you won't have to wait long!! Maiden coming later 😀👍
nice job ian enjoyed this build
Thank you Tom for watching and commenting 😀👍

Thank you so much Jeff, thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it 😀👍
Superb,
Thanks Doug 😀👍
I used the pc interface for the microbeastx
otherwise it's very annoying for me
looking forward to the maiden!
Yes I've got the PC interface, but I will probably do it with the transmitter, it's only the 3rd time I've set up a Microbeast 😀👍
GETTING RIGHT INTO ✅ THAT'S MY IAN RC BROTHER
Thanks Lawrence 😀👍
