The Axe has too many bugs mate Grim Onslaught: couldn't pick up the axe again after throw LightWeight Haft: keep decreasing stamina instead of increasing Flight of Ruin: the axe keeps spinning while it returns to the slayer
I know this is an older video, but I find myself returning to watch this over and over because I keep seeing something new every time I re-watch it. The Ax and Pike are my two favorite weapons in the game and watching videos like this help me get better after each viewing. Thank you.
I'm giving the Switch version a shot, and decided to pick Axe because it reminded me the most of Great Sword, one of my favorite MH weapon types. Seems like I made the right choice in that sense.
You were correct I did ask how you got there, and I got to the deck below that roof but now i'm clueless as to how you got higher I am probably just missing the next thing to climb but I'm not seeing it. As for the guide itself, I very much enjoyed it and it has been quite helpful. 1 thing that you don't mention but might be worth noting is the utility of the 1000 sun YEET, it is one of the only stagger, boop, or part break options at range.
As an axe lover, I highly recommend the koshai lantern, the life steal based off damage dealt can give you near max health in one to two combos and the dash/dmg is a good way to move fast and save stamina. Been using it and have got to say its tons of fun and super useful
thought it would be worth mentioning that the 4th charge is very easy to get to in even weak behe fights as a 550 if you run energized lvl 6. so to be clear, with energized that skill becomes much more viable.
This is true. Axecore is an AoE. The way elemental damage is calculated means that while AoE's split their damage among all hit parts, they apply their full EV to each part hit. So if you deal 90 damage and 90 EV split across 3 parts, you'll deal 30 damage to each part, but 270 EV.
I really like the way you describe the axe damage as "Dummy Thick" XD and really how you described everything about the axe for that matter. So I hit you up with a support-a-creator :D keep up the good work m8
I highly recommend that before you play axe, pick something quick like sword or chain blades and begin studying every behemoths movements so you can pick out the best moments to attack.
this weapon is harder to use as a noob, but since i’ve gotten more experienced this has actually been the easiest, but most rewarding weapon I have used thus far.
So...what build and cell usage do you recommend? I have a certain build I'm working towards, but some of the cells are proving annoying to get due to RNGesus. Do you have a particular build for this guy?
Question: If you decide to use the vertical ender after charging the first hit, Is it worth charging it for the extra meter, it should you just finish the the string as is?
I main repeaters but am looking at learning either the hammer or axe next: what are the pros and cons of each weapon in comparison to each other .-.? And do you plan on making a Hammer guide video? Thanks, xanny
Not xanny, but I played both axe and hammer almost exclusively and they're both great weapons. Axe is slower but has a bit higher dps than hammer, its playstyle emphasize on timing the charged attacks. Hammer is a bit more technical with phial management and it can stagger behemoths easier. Both are very rewarding weapons to master.
@@ikhsanhasbi657 I feel hammer is a bit easier to use and for casual play will yield lower kill times and higher damage. Not saying axe isnt a dps monster when played well- but sub 3 pangars with axe are a challenge for me whereas hammer; on only my 9th ever run using the weapon- I got 2 minutes and 2 seconds on heroic pangar due to the stagger/partbreak locks.
@@SageHerrera that's crazy fast. And yeah, hammer has potential to output some insane damage if you managed to stagger consistently. Though In my case I still found axe has higher dps in general. But maybe that's because I'm not that good with hammer, I can land axe charged attacks more consistently than hammer aether slam.
"Best combo is 2 vertical attacks, then 2 horizontal attacks for max damage and meter gain". Is there actually any difference between the 2nd vertical and 2nd "horizontal"* attack? Animation wise they are completely identical and look like the exact same move in either combo. *I put quotes and an asterisk because, in reality, the axe has only one horizontal attack in its entire kit, even though the game describes the RMB combos as horizontal attacks and they don't count for the nayzaga axe heal for vertical strikes, they are still vertical attacks.
Just the distance they cover and the 2nd horizontal attack takes 25% longer than the 2nd vertical attack. They have the same motion value of 160 however.
Xanny. Right now, wich build does top DPS? Im bored of iceborne and rage build, its creating a bad habbit on me. Also... trying hammer , u think hammer its top dps RN?
Top dps is probably hammen or repeaters. You can so basicly anything with repeatersso it is also everything lol but hammer is proba ky the top dps from close combat weapons
Be careful when using Vertical Ripper, attack speed won't affect this move, so you will reach the combo faster, but after that, back to normal speed. While yes I do understand this combo are rarely used but, I thought info this might be useful. Also, when you say "Axe Drifting" I was a bit excited, but seems like I'm thinking other axe drifting (sprint, jump,do horizontal swing and keep running).
I've been trying to interrupt the Heroic Embermane for about 5 minutes until I gave up (for now). It's pretty damn difficult to get used to the timing since I ALWAYS start my attack way too late, most often resulting in me and the behemoth getting knocked down... Is it just a matter of practice or is there any secret to it that I'm missing?
Attack speed helps if you feel the timings to slow on axe. If you just want an easy easy booper, hammer is king. With concussive salvo, your charged blast (even 1 ammo) will boop and you can just hold the charge till embermane gets close so the timing is much easier. Where as with axe I find it difficult without lightweight shaft and attack speed, to hold the triangle for the right moment to either catch the behemoth with the backswing of the axes triangle/R which covers more area therefore more frames for booping, or just using it in front and relying on attack speed, judging distance from behemoth to you, and release timing. Attack speed was the biggest help for me in learning to land axe boops. Hope this helps. Edit: Grim Onslaught with attack speed is a very easy boop but goes on CD so learning the horizontal boop is huge.
@@CatsandBoots935 I'm not sure.. But there is Google and if you don't want to do that oh dough has a video on it I belive. I believe it's not as good as grim onslaught though
Side note: there's a cool thing that when you charge then regular attack (y), when you finish, you can constantly push (y) and keep swinging the axe until you stamina runs out of the behemoth moves away
So you’re learning axe for the first time, and now you’re asking yourself... what dimension did I just yeet my axe to? *shows you running from shrowd while permanently unarmed*
Lol its only about the players haha im doing fine with my repeaters in ps4. When you get the attack speed of your repeaters to the max you will be super good at dealing damage
Just got mauled by a riftstalker few hours ago, I was playing axe with 3 other randoms playing repeaters. The riftstalker was constantly up my ass because 3 other players refuses to get close and standing 2 miles away from the behemoth shooting their repeaters. The hunt failed, but fortunately I managed to cut its tail before it wiped us. At least I got the material I need.

The Axe has too many bugs mate
Grim Onslaught: couldn't pick up the axe again after throw
LightWeight Haft: keep decreasing stamina instead of increasing
Flight of Ruin: the axe keeps spinning while it returns to the slayer
Why do we need other weapon Guides when the Godhand Warpike is OP as hell
Also if you catch the ace in mid air after it has bounced off a behemoth you gain about 40 - 50% meter.

I think volatile axecore is also capable of getting status effects from elements to proc faster though not entirely sure.
