- This video will show you how to get the S rank monster Modegon Lord Of Shadows in Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince. This monster is easy to get once you have a single B rank monster and the mole hole DLC.

I wish there were hints for fusion like in the old games.
There are _some_ hints, but they require extensive knowledge of past Dragon Quest games to understand them.
Mordegon here required you to make Dora-in-Grey, Krystalinda, and Jasper Unbound to make him because the three of them were his underlings in DQ11. Additionally, you need Mordegon to make Darkling, which you then need to make Calasmos, the true final boss of DQ11.
Psaro the Manslayer _(yes, he's here despite Psaro being who you're playing as)_ requires Aamon, Pruslas, Rashaverak, and Barbatos in a quadliniar fusion to make him, Barbatos requiring the egg exclusive Psaro's Pawn* to make him. Those five monsters were all underlings of Psaro in DQ4.
_*EDIT: I meant Marquis de Leon, Sorry, but there's still a connection, since Marquis made a deal with the Manslayer, and that's the reason why he's a big lion monster._
And as one last example, The Almighty _(aka, the Dragon Quest version of _*_God Himself)_* requires Orgodemir as one of the monsters to make him, since him and The Almighty were mortal enemies in DQ7.

"Even a slave can become a king". Secret to making the white king. Fusing bone slaves together to make dead nobles then fusing 2 nobles to make a king
@@blackheartzerotheundergrou3225dated response I know but that kind of defeats the purpose of hints.
Having to vaguely rely on call backs from entirely separate games does not really work since in some games cases they can go by different rule sets for fusion.
Such as some monster catching games will base it on total level and/or if they carry specific traits to decide which pool would they be narrowed down to a specific one.
Meanwhile others might get very literal needing overly specific fusions, but could also pull bs like making invalid fusions because they never bothered to fill in every entry, even with ‘back leveling’ fusion where they regress but turns into a perfect opp to ‘regress’ a unit for a higher stat and skill point pile up, depending on how they handle carry over systems.
Never the less, I feel DQM dark prince borrows too much from its previous entries, including the joker entries to even be considered a proper ‘evolution’ of its previous titles.
If it had atleast a bit more ambition like dragon quest builders or even treasures, they could have had a lot more things involved in both the synthesis system, the combat system and the ‘traversal system.
Hell, atleast the joker entries had more of what felt like a real story, instead of doing a poor stripped down and mangled corpse of any call backs to DQ4.
Would have honestly been more neat they had some more ‘new’ monsters that didn’t feel ripped from previous entries, maybe have some monsters based on some DQ hero characters to really up the fanservice.
Might be due to me not seeing them but it certainly feels like they skipped a number of iconic monsters, variants and more in favor of weird ‘somewhat random ones’ like the cake themed monsters.
Guess I can be glad im already contemplating dusting off my desktop to open up steam again.
Cause all these 60 dollar titles that are looking rather unpolished simply push me to go after more basic 10-30 dollar titles that may not as be ‘beefie’ in the roster, but certainly makes up for it for feeling a little more innovative.
I still think it would of been cool if secret of evolution could of been actually used as a ingame mechanic to ‘reset’ a monsters level and bop them to a low grade monster but get a massive pool of abilities and trait points as a bonus, in addition to carrying over more traits in fusion to really push the post game into making master pieces of monsters.
Plus it would have tied perfectly into storyplay reasons, just psaro instead of using it on himself, they take a different approach of ‘repurposing’ the power.

Welp I think I'll grab myself a Krystalina from the Mole-Hole instead. Because I'm keeping my Krystalina that I currently have in my party. But hey now I can have the main antagonist of Dragon Quest XI on my party.

when I made Corvus I had already had a Large fully built Barbarus for a while, so I had to make one again.... without mole-hole. totally mind numbing
Nice, I noticed that theres apparently a monster called "Psaro the Manslayer". I know what the "Psaro" in DQMJ2 looks like, as I have made one before, but I am interested to see what the full manslayer himself looks like in this game! Other than the MC of course.

I'd like to see some synthesis with the egg exclusive monsters and some maybe update why you should even do the Colliseum after a certain point because... I don't see any reason to do it besides some medicore item drops?
So, to get "the Almighty" you'll need a psaro's pawn. Which is exclusively from silver eggs. This will be used for an undead portion. But ultimately if you followed previous guides, you can use the mole hole for the emperor slime, taking half of the tree out that doesn't need the pawn.
Take the pawn, put it with a dead resident. You'll get a "tortured soul". combine that with a fright night to get the "Night Knight" combine this with a Pandora's box (mimic + ne'er-do-well). That's half of a tree. At this point it's easy, get a togre and a jinkster for "the time being". Scout a "notso macho" and a "alamour" (b rank material+demon) to synthesize a "macho Picchu". Synthesize this with the time being. And then with the combination of night knight and Pandora's box to get "orgodemir". And when synthesized with the emperor slime. Will give you a rank X monster 😁

And yeah, I got the Skyserpent or what the yellow dragon is called and used it to get it all the way to s-rank now. But the next step would be some grandparent synthesis with a lot of s-ranks I don't own and am too lazy to synthesis at the moment.
@@Morte_n that's where I am. I just got to Nokturnus (nocturnus if Google is right) and that uses the above ☠️ and then like 3 more monsters. Its a menace of a task, I just wanna kill things now 🤣

Question , I just made Corvus ! I went with a wisdom base set up and mp set up for magic burst , now it seems as though magic burst is cap’d at 600 damage ,
I don’t know how I feel about that
I noticed it as well with the higher stats monster wisdom boosting doesn't seem worth going for the biggest difference I've seen is like 50 damage more so I just put something else instead
@@dragonne500 exactly , the damage doesn’t scale right in this game , like I have the which lady at damn there 900 wisdom but she’s still doing basically the same damage
Easier way is to hatch a Rainbow egg with Krystalinda and cross with Jasper Unbound
I’m not trying to complain, but I’m just curious are all of the S and X rank monsters simply just dragons lol it seems like all the unique and original design sort of N down to a rank, then, after that, it’s nothing but dragons
I looked at the japanese guide and at least for X rank, apart from the crown symbol ones, its just. dragons yeah, and S rank doesnt really have a ton of stuff either, im pretty for undead types there is just one, and its just a skeleton dragon.

@@Leondragon06 yeah so that doesn’t mean anything the dragon quest franchise has very creative monster designs just like Pokémon does imagine if all of the most powerful Pokémon we’re only dragon types just because Charizard is a fan favorite that would be pretty stupid, right?
Also, the title of the franchise is only the American translation of the franchise

Wild that two powerful Wisdom monsters make an Attack monster. So what, you just need to carry some inefficient monsters like a Krystalinda with Hair Splitter & shit to get this guy sorted with good talents? Weird.
I'm not a big fan of this big bone snake form. I was hoping for his humanoid form where he's wielding that big ass sword

Yes he is, I still have to make Calasmos but as always the ??? Family are hardest to make
Yup, and Mordegon here is needed to make him. You need to synthesize him with Scruffy (formerly Warubou), the island Spirit from DWM2 to create a Darkling. then you synthesize that Darkling with a monster called Nelgel the Netherfiend to get Calasmos.
Nelgel is tricky to make though, since you will need a monster you can only find in random eggs, Robbin 'Ood, before you can get started.
