In simple language, Alpha value 0.01 mean that we are 99% confident in our results Similar is the case with 0.05, we are 95% confident. So, correlation which is significant at 0.01 level is also significant at 0.05 level. SPSS gives us more precise alpha level for our better understanding about results. Do we correlate continuous variable with categorical variable like gene expression fold change with clinical feature like gene expression data in 2.1, 2.6 continuous type and clinical feature like bone disease in form of present, absent. Can we do correlation between two
Is this correlation with outliers in data or without outliers in data? How to exclude outliers from data before conducting correlation analysis? Correlation is a parametric or non parametric analysis?
This was fictitious data used for demonstration purpose. If your sample size is large enough, few outliers will not affect. But if you dealing with small sample size, then spearman rank coefficient of correlation is good option to proceed further. You can exclude outliers by detecting case-wise but you need to justify it. For parametric and non- parametric correlation, please watch ua-cam.com/video/8sn84VancHY/v-deo.html
Hello mam...your videos are always very helpful. Mam, pls solve my query..do we need to know how to calculate these correlation, regression etc..manually also?? Actually I am at beginning stage of my PhD and facing problem with these concepts..pls guide
Glad, You find my videos helpful!! You are not required to know manual calculations of any statistical test as in Ph.D. Your sample size will be huge, you cannot analyze your data manually. You can analyze your data using any software like SPSS. But, you should have conceptual knowledge of these statistical tests. This will help you to understand your research questions and interpret results of your study in a better way. For basic concepts of Correlation and regression, you can check out my other videos.
@@dr.sumeetbakshi thanku so much mam for your rply..i have already started watching your videos to have conceptual knowledge of all these statistical concepts..Thanku mam..god bless😊🙏

Hello dr, while doing pearson correlation analysis , how to change the alpha value from 0.01 to 0.05? Thank you so much
