To be fair we're practically trained to do it as kids, when every children's book is about a sad book that no one gets out of the library, or a sad apple that's the last one left on the tree, etc. We just never grew out of it I guess!

No you’re not silly for keeping stuff. I do it too. In fact this year my 95 year old grandfather passed and cleaning his house out was so hard… I came home with so much stuff and I use it in my studio now.
I love all your videos but my favorite ones are when you are redoing (or in this case, getting a new) studio!! My dream one day is to have a little room just like that full of all my art and knick-knacks!

Yes I’m like you. It’s very difficult. But I’m 62 and I have so many art supplies it’s ridiculous! Btw that desk in the little nook is perfect. Wow, that was just a perfect fit. It is a bummer losing those beautiful windows, but it is nice that you can paint in your living room. I wonder with oil painting, don’t you have the smell of solvent throughout your home? I have only used water mixable oils but even then there’s smell. I have a sensitive nose though and get migraines.
I'm glad I'm not alone lol! I try to use ordorless solvents to minimize the smell. I also only use the solvent in the beginning for early washes, otherwise I use oil to clan the brushes. I can crack these windows open too, so that helps! I know water mixable oils are definitely safer, so I may have to try them out one day.
So glad to see the studio up and running! Thank you for the info about the Art Institute having the Van Gogh exhibit. I love his paintings so I will be checking it out soon.

Hi Ashley I am exactly like you I get attached to things and knick nacs I have a few too. I moved a couple of years ago up the coast and up until now been unpacking boxes lol So I totally get that. But I did get rid of quite a few things before coming up here to the North Coast furniture etc as it wouldnt fit in the truck we hired for moving. I do enjoy the Thrift stores here in Australia we call them Op shops which is short for Opportunity shops. I like the name too. Your little art room looks fantastic. Thanks for sharing
