Yes, there are black bears around Nashville Tennessee. I live in Tennessee for a couple of years and seen a lot of black bears, but they always ran off if I walked too close to them, but I spent a lot of time in Gatlinburg Tennessee, up in the Smoky Mountains, and the Bears ain't scared of you there, They will come right up to you wanting you to feed them something.
