It was my qualities that my depression took away from me, but now that I'm recovering, my qualities have returned. Can't wait to be the best version of myself 😊
What a beautiful video. Stoicism is such a great way to get mental peacefulness. Ones need to learn to chase internal values rather than external ones.
No 7 No 7 No 7.....It simply never occurred to me. So simple yet so profound. It is like an Eureka moment for me. So much overwhelmed with this thought right now. Whoever you are Thank you for this video.🙏
As for the last advice I think how much of. Determination and curiosity dictates the last point. And it also need time to acquire. But I think youre right on the last point
You've really got me thinking. Its so interesting to know that these qualities are available anytime. And by having them we can reach the desired results. Its just that I don't know where to apply it yet..or how to be satisfied and happy in the process than the results. Your videos are so helpful... They help me improve myself.
The stoics are great reads and can be beneficial but the issue ive found with stoicism is it is in a constant state of relative half life. Content but not full. And that idea can only work amidst a state of affluence. Its good for a sense of gratitude, but you can only be grateful relative to the graces youve been granted. Theres a sense of sadness to it and lack of purpose. Pursuit of highest fulfillment is what lifts all boats and is the highest good.
What about Epictetus who was a slave? Also Seneca was exiled, and I don’t think being the emperor of Rome (Marcus Aurelius) is necessarily a good grace, it’s a lot of responsibility-it’s a huge weight on the shoulders. It’s all good though if the Stoics don’t have an effect on you. I’ve personally found a lot of truth in their words
@@FreedominThought no for sure, there definitely is. Thats why theyre famous works that have survived through the ages. I think you'd really take an interest in some of the christian theology as well (almost no one provides an accurate reading of the philosophy) but you might like bishop robert barron. He does great work too. You should give him a listen. Keep up the insightful videos mate. 😄👍
I’ve enjoyed Christian thinkers in the past, and I might have a series on Dostoevsky soon. I enjoy pulling my ideas from everywhere. I’ll check him out, thanks!
Robert Greene and Jordan Peterson would argue against being yourself though. You can't be yourself in society, you need to wear a mask. Also, if you are thinking about going places in life, being yourself is not the right way to go. Instead, you should improve yourself, your skillset and try to reach your full potential.

It's amazing that stoic advice from 1000s of years ago are still valid in this modern world 🌏

Stoicism and Buddhism (and other eastern philosophies) are remarkably similar in _what_ they want to achieve - they only really differ in the methods

Lesson 4 and 5 are such contradictions. When I’m myself, nobody likes me so my relationships suffer.
Do they like you now?
@@flow1465 I think so, it may have just been my negative perception of myself at the time

Time is the only thing I have.
You can't go on life expecting to get the worse so if you get a little bit better you feel good.
There are less number of succsessful people because most people are not interested in valueable things
What is valuable things?
success is relative

And then all good things will come to a sudden end just like 79AD pompeii & tonga 2022. Facts of nature called Baysien THEORAM.
If you would have preached these things a thousand years ago, you would have definitely started a religion based on your preachings.
