Swelling is common in paralysis patients, whether it is unilateral (affecting only one hand or leg) or bilateral (affecting both hands and legs) (affecting both hands and legs). The swelling may be visible on the face as well. The most prevalent causes of swelling are downward movement and sensitive skin or allergic ointment. This can also happen if the patient does not wash their hands after using the oil or lotion for longer than a day.
Patients should dilute the oil before using it and keep the heat pad in the same place for longer than necessary. It's also a good idea for caregivers to inspect the heat pad before using it on the patients. Patients with calf muscle varicose veins are also affected. Before or after paralysis, these veins can form. One of the most prevalent adverse effects of unilateral swelling is this. It is recommended that caretakers maintain adequate cleanliness to avoid subsequent problems.
    1. KFT is suggested for people who are swollen.
    2. Urine examination (routine)
    3. Thyroid screening
    4. Perform a blood test
Patients become swollen due to low hemoglobin and high salt intake, resulting in an accumulation of water in the body. Swelling on both sides could indicate a renal issue or something else, whereas malnutrition produces full-body swelling. As a result, understanding the origin of swelling is crucial to treating it.
Patients should also consume a well-balanced diet rich in vitamin D, vitamin B12, and other vitamins and minerals. Furthermore, the patient must guarantee that active activities are performed rather than inert ones.
