They lived it up from 1978 to 1984(the end of his political ambitions/the start of war between Escobar and the Colombian government). The arrogance and hubris of being in an illegal business and yet seeking the spotlight, staggering. And it was paid for the rest of his life and the rest of his family's life undoubtedly.
Escobar's last victims were his family.

I like jaun pablo/sebastian. He resembles what his father could've been, had he not have involved himself in the drug trafficking. Tho in those times, it was inevitable for the vast majority of people. Like how it is in most of Mexico still to this day. Good interview shaun. I wonder if he's heard of the guy who was claiming to be Pablo's "first born son" Roberto Escobar

    • @bobbyclemente21

Not to excuse Pablo or men like him but if there's no demand no one will supply! Very basic economic law. So users are a lot to blame for drug-related crimes. I get that these kinds of narcotics are highly addictive and once people use on a regular basis they are hooked but they chose to use them. Opioids on the other hand, and people who get addicted are now often turning to heroin, I place blame at the feet of doctors, Big Pharma and the US Gov't for allowing that trash to have ever been allowed to be prescribed. We already knew what opium did to China through the criminals known as the Royal Family.

@@bobbyclemente21 I have Stage IV Grade 3 cancer. The Treatments are very painful & eventually I will Ride the Opiate Train outta here 🏞🎶💃
You are Sadistic if you believe the "drugs" don't have a REAL purpose. However, they are Not meant for long-term use.
I will also have 10 years clean/sober in October. I'm glad you didn't Blame the addicted, because I was prepared to go nuts 🤩🤣
I'm in total agreement with you 😌 The US government is completely to blame for flooding the ghettos with the crap & supporting the privately owned prison systems that are filled & funded to line the pockets of those who are crying:
      "We are in an epidemic"!
Create a storm & then cry when it rains!
"They" don't really care. Their solution was PLANNED before they cried, "Epidemic" 🤬: Methadone & Suboxone!!!
NOW, They're making money through Big Pharma 🤑 Keeping folks addicted to their legal Dope 🙄

I'm watching Narcos for the first time right now. And it is absolutely not encouraging me to be like Pablo or deal in drugs, entirely the opposite. As his son says, Narcos is fictionalized and not accurate, but I get the desperation, greed and a whole host of other negative and destructive thoughts and acts committed by narcos.

The problem with Shuans interviewing is he always comes off sensationalist. Like the guest will give a meaningful response worth exploring, like for example here where Pablo's son mentions his work with victims and Shuan pretty much just goes 'that's nice', anyway what about the attack and explosions blah blah. Always goes straight into wanting to move onto action, death and drama. Even with the over the top thumbnails 😂

@@LeftLaneDreams I understand the content aspect, but the way he goes about it just feels a bit like the sun newspaper...as for the alleged victims of satanic ritual abuse and that weirdo women who claimed to trafficked, that's all just bullshit. A real victim who had gone through that kinda abuse wouldnt be alive to tell it on a podcast...no evidence for anything, just their word. Not to say this doesnt happen, because it does. But those guests are definitely questionable...

    • @LeftLaneDreams
      @LeftLaneDreams 4 роки тому +1

Timbo Fett Yeah Shaun is my guy and I’ve supported him since the beginning, so I can tell that he is legitimately obsessed with the Epstein/Maxwell case. Don’t get me wrong I truly respect the fact that he is reporting on and trying to bring consequences to these pedos that take advantage of and abuse minors, like the people that were involved with Epstein. That needs to keep being pursued and anyone involved with abusing a minor should be charged and put in prison. But there are also people (women) who take advantage of Shaun’s big heart, and like you mentioned before they tell everyone they were in a satanic cult that killed babies or some other crazy BS lol. Hence if any of those stories were true the police would definitely be interested, and those women that claimed they saw those crimes being committed are POS for not going to the police if any of it is true... 🤦🏼‍♂️💯

Juan Pablo is a book! Great to see him on your show as I know there is a mutual respect there a lot of these journalist watch narcos and hit him up for an interview where Shaun actually has done his research and ask the questions we all want answers to regarding pablos demise in 93 due to castanos and Cali alliance. I have to disagree with Jorge valdez Shaun, there was no one more prominent in the trafficking business than Pablo from 76-92. Valdez was in jail from the early 80’s until the late he didn’t see much, his main distributors, sal magluda and willie falcon, the new cocaine cowboys on Netflix, shows how Medellin was truly the bulk provider and no one else outside Pablo. Gacha and Ochoa’s had any say, I’m not sure who Jorge is talking about but it doesn’t seem to pan out, there is a reason we all know Pablo Escobar in modern society, and it’s not because he was the fall guy. Valdez is great but that take on Pablo not being #1 is not accurate, Forbes doesn’t put you at the #7 richest man in the world if there’s many big players behind you, Pablo was Medellin.

If you are going to do somthing let alone a crime that has NO statute of limitations, #1 rule is you dont want anyone to know or 1 to 2 others that you know will take it to the graves with them if you are in a an organization. Putting that information out for free tells me you had NO intentions of doing it or it is a suicide mission.

Noriega was arrested in 89' during the US invasion. Not sure how he could have helped out Escobar's family

Because Darren G is a paranoid schizophrenic. Wouldn't trust him as far as I could see him.

He speaks very good English. He grew up mostly in Argentina, right? And the average Argentine doesn't speak English well so I'm kinda curious what spurred him onto learn it.
