I will not give recommendations on certain brands to buy. Why? Here is the reason: there are many different good and bad brands out there. A good brand today can turn into a bad brand tomorrow by using cheap wood, altering their sizes, etc. etc. I am teaching you how to find a good pair of rings and not how to buy 'X' brand. I want to provide you with the information to make your own decision and not give a decision to you. This is the difference between 'teaching' you something and 'telling' you something. I am a teacher not a teller. -Antonio

Honestly what u said is very true: theres a lot of brands that were actually incredible at one point, some even the best in their market, and in a matter of a few product cycles they're now at the bottom of the barrel in terms of quality (and im talking in general, not just gym rings)
I bought some wood rings with the numbered straps and I have really been enjoying training with them so far. I recorded my first workout and it got me motivated like I was a beginner again with new exercises to learn. Subbed
Hell yeah!!! I remember doing push-ups and pec flys on the rings and I looked like a new born baby deer hahahaha 🤣, but dam was I sore for a week!!! Compared to the usual barbells and dumb bell workouts!! What brand did you buy?
I just started thinking about getting a pair to add to my pull up bar at home set up and didn't find many good "buying guides" online. Thanks for this one!
First time ring user... I am doing research to buy me the best gymnastic rings available Thank you so much for illuminating me with your valuable insights in procuring the right system! IT WAS VERY HELPFUL & CHEERFUL!
I got 2 out of 3 right (timber and thickness) but got a crappy strap so left them up and it rained. Alot. So my beautiful timber rings have never been the same. Time to get another set and some better straps! Awesome video.
Greetings from West Virginia, I picked up a pair of 1.25” wood rings with a strap like your first one. I’m thinking just sand it down and get a better pair of straps because lord does it take a long time.
Amazing video sir , it's helpful and really amazing. I currently have the plastic rings and the thin straps it comes with. I am gonna buy the wooden 1.11 ones with thick straps and buckles when possible... I can't find the wooden ones from where I am . Thanks for the video tho. No BS or anything just a man keeping it real. Thanks alot.
Woo thanks for this, been looking into buying an essential gym equipment since this whole crap started(quarentine) but I want to do some calisthenics instead of what I've been doing just strong man, I love it but want to try out calisthenics!!!
Hi there mate. After the 4th time I used my rings I noticed a splinter in one of them.. Those are really good rings, which bummed me out a bit. From your experience, is that a common thing? Should I expect splinters forming? What should I do? Sand them down? I was thinking about applying some varnish to the rings... if that doesn´t work in the long term, I might just wrap the rings with duct tape.
There's really no advantage to wider straps unless you're King Kong. The thinner straps take less space and it's not difficult to make a reel for them using a skateboard wheel.
Question- How long have you been training on a Bent Arm/ Straight Arm split? Curious as to your thoughts on other splits- eg. pros/ cons of, say, and upper lower split, Compared to BA/SA. And who would a BA/SA split be appropriate for? Cheers! Tom
I no longer use this split, but not because I do not think it is useful. The bent arm/straight arm split can be used for a very long time and it will get you great results with strength. I used it for about 2 years before changing to what I am doing now.
Hey! Just wondering, I’m 17 and insanely active in the movement world and climbing and martial arts and I lift 3 days a week and move the rest except doing Qigong and restful activities on sundays. How old are you and how long did it take for you to get where you are?
i dont see why he would not at least mention the brand in the video so we can be sure to get the same quality strap/etc. and not just some random one that might not even be close.
@@squintygreeneyes I bought the fitbeast rings on amazon and they’re great. Stupid name but they work quite well. Amazon sucks though so if you find a third party site buy from them.
Are the 1.25" rings better for dips, push ups, et cetera? Or do your hands get used to the smaller pressure point? I'm trying to decide on thickness right now and I'm a tall guy (6' 3") but I have weak grip from old injuries. I feel like a thinner ring might be more comfortable for pulling movements under the rings, but a thicker one might be more comfortable for pushing movements on top of the rings. Another question: some people on forums say the thicker rings are better for elbow pain. What are your thoughts?
can u give us the name of the brand you use? i like the wood, it has a nice gymnasiums look to it. incase he does not answer, does anyone have an idea of at least what type of wood they r using? it looks darker/tanner than the boltic birch wood ones but there is a good chance thats just from using it for years? THANKS!
If you have 70 dollars I bought Double Circle and they don't use the buckel they use a carabiner. The strap is thick . It comes with a 1.25 inch rings but u can buy 1.1 separate for 28 dollars and have an extra pair. Wood of course and it's very good wood. High quality better than these
One of the best compliments, I have ever gotten...should have kept that hairstyle! As for your locomotion tutorial, I really want to make this video, unfortunately, there are some obstacles in the way that prevent me from sharing this exact information. I'll see what I can do.
I am not positive but I bet that they do sell these separately. I had bought just the rings before, so I am willing to bet you can buy just the straps.
Recommending a certain brand with a disclaimer that you're not responsible for their quality production in the future would significantly simplify lives of people who don't have time or patience for researching. Nice video, though.

Have you had any luck finding longer straps (20+ feet?) my 16ft straps work but aren't ideal for handstands / training on high trees
