In the last 3 years half my family passed away. I moved to somewhere I don’t like with very little garden space. It’s occurred to me how interesting it is that people I don’t know but watch everyday can feel like family or at least good friends. Thanks for keeping me company. Continued success.

There are so many more people in a similar situation than any of us can imagine. Garden Answer is such a blessing. I know the original intent was just gardening, but what Laura , Aaron and the entire family has shared in this space is also the joy we all feel in a real intact family that is close. This channel is SO much more than gardening and is a cherished part of my daily experience. THANK YOU, Laura, Aaron, one and all of the family for everything that you share. Have a wonderful THANKSGIVING 😊🍁🦃!

This is the first year since my father passed and its the first holiday truly alone. Just me and my husband, no kids, and no family left alive. Just having a good meal, just not turkey...im so thankful to have GA and get to be apart of some holiday stuff like the garden center tours and watching you and your mom and sister making all those delicious treats. Thank you for sharing it and bringing us along. Happy Thanksgiving to you and all of your family. Can't wait for the Christmas lights tour! 🦃🎄 ✨

Just a tip… instead of cutting up and back down on the bottom of the ribbon, fold the end of the ribbon in half with the right side on the outside and then cut from the selvage edge at a diagonal up to your fold. Let go and you have a perfectly symectrical bottom to your ribbon!!!! Hope that made sense!! So much quicker also!! ❤

Ohhhh that DID turn out sooooooo pretty! Absolutely love it! While I DO love the entrance walkway, as an old lady now, I worry about trip hazards. I don't want to project my fear on you. I just want you to be aware. Anyone unfamiliar with going in and out of the shed with hands filled, may stumble.... OR not! I DO love the look! You two did an awesome job, as always. Thank you for sharing. xo

I agree, Donna, about the stones. They look great but the ones we put in around our pond have become a trip hazard. I'm thinking of replacing them with interlocking pavers for a more stable surface that would still drain water back into the soil.

I am not as creative as you Laura but when you were hanging the wreaths, I thought that flower shed would be cute decorated up as a Gingerbread House. Have you ever thought about using the Flower Shed in a Gingerbread theme setting? I could see you adding some form of gumdrops to the roof, candy canes at the door, a little ginger girl and ginger boy waiting at the door, etc. And some added Gingerbread accessories inside would be super cute. I have just finished watching your older video about how you made gingerbread houses for the garden center last year so I guess I have the gingerbread theme on my mind. It turned out so pretty this year!

I look at that 3 foot deep strip in front of the Flower Shed, running from picket fence to picket fence (only now interrupted by the new stones at the doorway) and it screams "Annual Flower Bed!" A solid block of color - petunias, begonias, whatever - creating a division between the wild grass/bulbs on the side and back of the shed from the seed grass you're planning in front of the shed. It would be glorious....

Yes, some days I can be extra weird! 🙋‍♀️😊⛄

I love this shed! Seeing you two decorate it was so fun with my coffee this morning. You'll enjoy it for many months through winter. In Chicago lights are often left up for "winter interest". Would love for Aaron to do a video on how he does the lights. I've had to string icicle lights days before install in my garage to get them to stretch out. Love the look. I have some advice and you'll thank me in the spring. From someone who's built a house and garden from bare dirt. Lay a thick layer of mulched dry leaves where you're going to put the flower beds in front of the shed. Then layer mulch on top and sprinkle with water to freeze in place. This will do so much for your soil in the spring. Love the stones and will be a nice transition to the lawn next year. And please put some greens in the pots. It will finish the look. Great project you two! Happy Thanksgiving.

You have given me so many great ideas and glad I have s suggestion for you. Why not put white cup hooks around the flower shed to run the lights? I am afraid of heights and start sweating bullets if I get past the 3rd rung on a ladder so always looking for ways to avoid ladders and use extension pole. The white cup hooks we used were not even noticeable on the eves at the other times of the year. I hope you and all your family have a lovely, blessed season!🙏😊

I believe she tried command strips last year, but they weren’t strong enough for the wreaths.

So pretty! I also think a big wreath on the back wall between those shelves would look gorgeous, maybe with foraged and dried flowers? Some green in there would feel fresh.

I'm so happy Laura decided not to paint the inside of the flower shed!
Can you see how beautiful the warm glow inside contrasts so STUNNINGLY with the white exterior?
It looks like one of the lit houses Laura showed us in the Christmas decorations at her parents' garden center.
Clean, classic, and easy on the eyes.
    🌞🙏

Maybe add a small permanent hook on the windows for the wreaths. (something decorative) That way you could put some up for other seasons also.

Lol, “I’m sensing you don’t want the support.” Thanks for the laugh. The shed is a study in how to build a quality outbuilding that adds to the beauty of your property.
