I'm not Catholic. I don't belong to a denomination, but I'm really enjoying this plan. Father Mike has a great narrating voice & I love the messages after the readings so far & the NRSV is the first version of the Word I ever bought & I enjoy it 😊💜 that is all lol
I bet you will enjoy Fr Mike class every day. I reached day 105 - did not miss a single class since I started. I am now doing New testaments together with the old testament. Fr Mike class is just awesome.

This is so helpful. I have never read the Bible and I am 79 years old. I have the Divine Mercy Catholic Bible and as I go I am reading the "Mercy Moments" . I need God's mercy now so much.

I AM DOING THE BIBLE IN A YEAR ALL OVER, AGAIN. I DID IT IN 2021 AND 2022. IN 2023 I DID THE CATECHISM IN A YEAR. IN 2024 IT IS AGAIN THE BIBLE IN A YEAR PODCAST.

I am a widow, but because I had a very good husband who walked with God I have good children and grandchildren who look after me in his absence.

The choice of spouse affects our life. This came at an appropriate time.
I am not perfect but I have always tried to walk with God.
My husband would attend church with me and we prayed together at home. We would have lengthy and heartfelt conversations regarding our faith.
Yet, he has chosen to stray and has become cruel.
Choosing my husband has greatly affected my life. I cling to God now.

My family and friends are not walking with God, and it saddens me because I am not able to share the excitement or what I have learned with them. Day 3 of 2023 & I’m sticking through it ! First thing on my mind
Previously it is here in this area of the Old Testament, that I had faded out...and went to Pslam and Proverbs. Then only going back to Ruth during any Bible Study with others. I came across this series last night. I have not read the whole Bible and it is on my bucket list of things to do. I finally bit the bullet and I have now caught up. Thank you - I am enjoying these sessions and I'm pretty confident that this item on my bucket list can be ticked off at the end of the year.

I was hoping that Fr. Mike would have addressed that in his ‘homily’ after the reading(s). What do you understand as being the significance of Enoch’s being taken by God?

My daughter found this podcast and she and I have started this plan together. She has her own family so we do not live together but it is so special that we are able to phone each other and chat about what we have learnt every day from the reading. God bless you and the team for putting The Bible in a Year together and, not only does it teach us more about God's word but it brings a mother and daughter even closer than they were by discussing God's word with each other.

HOPE HOPE HOPE..... thank you Fr Mike, for all you do in spreading God's Love ....... sometimes I hold on by a thread and God reminds me that He's right there to catch me. During Covid I was diagnosed with a rare cancer, had many rounds of Radiation external & internal, reacted severely to the Radiation so simultaneously was placed with Home Health Care for months to keep me hydrated and alive. 3 yrs later, I'm still under care of a Gastro Dr. for major internal problems, new "unidentifiable cells" have surfaced where cancer cells were, nerve endings throughout my body are causing painful issues, I've lost a lot of hearing in both ears, and the osteo-arthritis throughout my body is debilitating. my joints and bones.
I thank God every day for the courage and strength to live His Will for me for the day. I see my Grans often and they show dear love to me, as well as my several children and their spouses. I garden every day in my edible garden to keep my painful joints moving and our Good God sent me 2 new Grans while in Radiation Treatments. My Faith, Hope, and Love for our Good God is what keeps me going.
Thank you Fr. Mike for explaining Sons of God & Daughters of men, I never understood when I read that. God bless everyone on this journey.

God’s Word contains so much! Thank you for helping us to understand the meanings of the OT words, phrases, concepts so that we can apply those to our walk with God. I’d always wondered about “the sons of God, daughters of men”. Thank you for highlighting the Canite line and Sethite line. And especially-who you marry determines the trajectory of your life, determines the trajectory of your family life … ah, so very true!
Thank you again Father. Praying for you and everyone listening. I am a Catholic married to a Mormon, who is very supportive and our son from my first marriage was also raised Catholic.

Hi Father Mike, I pray for all the priests in my life and also for you because you have the largest parish. How many priests have a parish with people all around the world? I am a convert, so I am using UA-cam to learn about my faith thanks to people like you, the special speakers who join you, as well as all the staff it takes to make these 2 programs work for me. I am subscribed to the Bible in a Year and the Catechism in a Year. I finally found a catechism in my living room and was THRILLED to find it. Both of these require me to take notes on all that is said because I'll forget the "gems" on each day right after I leave the video. Thank you for what you and your staff do for me.

I never understood this two lines in Genesis before today. Thanks so much for your words after reading Day 3! At 81 yrs old, & Catholic educated K-college(Jesuit College), I never encountered so much of the Bible explained as I have in Day1-3. Praying I stay with it in 2022!🙏🙏🥰🥰

Thank you, Fr. Mike. This is my first time reading the whole catholic Bible. This is my New Year 2022 Resolution.
This was so interesting. I never focused on how long our early ancestors lived. It makes good sense. Fr. Mike hit the nail on the head regarding the importance of marriage. Marriage is a holy sacrament and is to be lived as such. We need to teach our youth and young adults about marriage and courtship.
