- Rundown on the 2023 Polygon Helios A7X aero race bike. We don't usually do purebred road bikes on the channel, but the value here is noteworthy. Initial impressions and details inside.

I recently bought the polygon strattos 7, the 105 mechanical setup. At more than 40% cheaper than big name brands in the USA, I'm very happy with the quality, the price and have gotten several comments on it. If you're on the fence, do it, you won't regret it!
If you buy American brand you pay for the ceo, managers, sponsored athletes, office expenses etc. And in USA everything is bigger :)
What’s the geometry like?
@@ryanholley136 much the same of a trek Madone. Sure, it’s an “aero race bike” but it rides more like an endurance bike. For $2000 USD, I’m surprised more people aren’t ordering these!
Gotta say, the strattos 7 does seem to be a good deal for the price
same with me, had used s7d for 1,5 years at indonesia (home brand) upgrade carbon wheels and carbon handlebar. looking for carbon handlebar same with a7x
It’s good that you’re not stuck to one style of riding! Enjoyed the video!👍
Great review! I have this exact bike, bought for $4600aud about a month ago. I agree that you would be hard pressed to find better value for money. Similar experience of hitting pb's without any extra effort proving that the bike is actually "faster".
My previous bike had mechanical disc brakes so the upgrade to hydraulic disc brakes on this bike is the most noticeable improvement for me!
How do you like it so far?
Bro your videos are great! Really enjoy watching them! Keep it up
It does feel good to go fast(er), and the speed advantage over gravel bikes is real!
Another review from bike Channel , LETS GOO Polygon!!!
The world need to know how best value this brand is when the bike price is so ridiculous....
For anyone looking for something similar, Lynskey (a titanium frame company) is selling complete titanium bikes w/ 105 DI2 or SRAM Rival for less than $4000. No full integrated cockpit, but definitely a bike worth considering
I found this bike after I already purchased my 2023 Giant TCR Disc Pro 1. I only wished it would come with that amazing cockpit that this bike comes with.
Polygon is pretty much the only bike most third world aspirational cyclists can afford. absolutely amazing pricing. also, one of the few companies to still make good, alloy rim brake machines.
There is united bike, pacific bike and thrill bike in indonesia, but those bike not reach global market, i bet it's because the lack of supply chain experiences
@@pustakarileks7404 we now have United in India. Hoping to see Federal soon though.
@@pustakarileks7404 pacific is just oem brand, they just copying and take openmold from other bran. I'd rather choose patrol or thrill brand if I can.
NB : I have pacific primum, wich is knock off from BMC time machine aero bike. Primum has significant weigh, compared to polygon stratos or united sterling lineup
@amitkumar-wj8gn which bike you ride Amit?
@@gråsscandy77 I currently have a custom steel bike built in Pune and a Giant hybrid. I also have a Marin Four Corners for bikepacking and a folding bike for commuting.
It’s been years since I’ve had a road bike but I like the indo brand. I’ve just bought a polygon Urbano 3 and am busy upgrading with BMX & MTB parts.
Your are on the money with your views !!
Good video...what is the music at 0:28?
What about the Polygon Path X5 any chance of a review of that?
Yes, PLEASE and Thank You!
A fair price for the package.
I have an allergy to the integrated cockpit concept however. They have no place on anything other than pro level bikes with access to mechanics and multiple bar options to adjust fit. I get the "clean lines" benefit but on virtually every other criteria they're a net negative.
Much more solid/ less flex. But you need to know your bike fit, stem length for your size.
Your last point about exploring different cycling mindsets is spot on; the more we pigeon hole ourselves, the more we create separation in the cycling community. Each discipline definitely has their “fast” bike…I’m just glad to see there are more affordable race ready options. As an aside, I was never much a Shimano fan especially after toying with SRAM etap; however, after playing with the 105 di2 myself, it’s definitely becoming a preference when it comes to e-shifting. I would definitely like to see more tuning options in the e-tube app for better configuration with other Shimano hardware, such as going with Ultegra 11-32 or 11-30 cassettes to hopefully take advantage of the hyper glide ++ tech…which might be marginal gains, but if that means more comfort in the knees while racing, I’ll take it.
So you mean we dont need automatic car transmission??
While there are camps saying Di2 is faddish and not going to replace mechanical, I thought the same of rim brakes. Even though there are still rim brakes available, the bike manufacturers are certainly fazing these out and one day disc is all that will be sold. I have held out as long as many and most.......I plan to with my next bike go Di2 and disc as the future of biking and manufacturers are going to force it. Get on board or stand in the crowd as they say. That said, the Helios A7X looks like a winner for the money,
What's the max tire clearance?
Can i ask the segment numbers? (Gradient, time with gravel bike like the diverge, time with the helios) thanks beforehand. Am very interested in these kind of data.
This bike seems to "tick" all the boxes! Did I miss the max tire size?
Hi, may I know your height / inseam for this bike of size M?
Could review the Fezzari Venyo bike ?
Could you review the vitus aero bike and the Fezzari race aero bike also?
Love to. Will wait for them to reach out. 😆
I complaint about products manufactured in China because the CCP uses our addiction to bargains to finance global domination. Sometimes products are manufactured in China and sent through and stamped in other places, like Malaysia, to avoid tariffs. However, this is not the case with Polygon. Polygon frames and in-house Entity rims are made right there in Indonesia, which I think is great. We fortunately have had new Polygons here and there in my area in South Carolina for a few years now, and I can say they are very nice bikes. Go Polygon! Thanks and all the best.
Well in 2023, average Chinese worker now lives longer than the Average American worker.
Maybe the would be progress. More importantly-KEEP POLITICS OUT OF CYCLING.
"the CCP uses our addiction to bargains to finance global domination"
man I'm just so tired

Polygon 100% made in indonesia
Hi there. May i enquire where do you get the bike mount and size of the bolt for the bike? The bolt that come with the bike mount does not fit. T.T
Could you review the polygon tanbora G5 seems like a good carbon entry level gravel bike
Tambora review in the works now actually.
I’m interested to see how you like Di2 once you’ve had some time on it. I agree that it’s absolutely not necessary, but it is nice to have for road/gravel. But, I had AXS on my MTB, but took it off.
The seat height you’re set to suggests that you have a long torso?
Hope I see one at a rummage sale
If you want buy a bike, what willyou choose, Polygon A7X, Specialized Tarmac SL6 or Giant TCR Adv 2?
Bahamian rapper jus dropped🇧🇸🔥
great review, what size are you riding it? i know that we both have the same size on Diverge, thanks
Medium
Isn't it a Carbonda frame?
... after months of investigation... i just ordered this bike :O... i will give you an update how i like it when it arrives :D
Have you been enjoying the bike?
yes very much.
2 things i dont like:
1. shimanos di2 is noisy. (sounds like cheap children toy robots)
2. the size recommendation should be taken with a grain of salt. i have XL which is recommended from 182-187cm. im 188cm and the reach is slightly too long. you can barely adjust the reach because the cockpit is one piece, so i had to adjust the brakes slightly to the top.
apart from that its a great bike.
i rode a canyon fitnessbike beforehand and crushed all my records without even putting effort to it. i have the highest increases in flat terrain, most likely due to the aggressive seating (more aero).
@@leggodeuces
@@leggodeuces Yes very much. Its so fast. :D
It looks like you could of went down one frame size. Great video 👍
I just have short legs 😆
@@TheBikeSauce Short legs are a good reason to go down a size. Not lower the saddle..
this is wrong. normally you would buy the frame size according to your body size. if your legs are shorter, this means your upper body is longer and you would need increased reach. therefore you'd lower the seatpost and buy a size larger
@@YannickLB
@@hansschmidt3144 No you don't. You increase the reach by getting a longer stem and sometimes a setback on your seatpost. Frame size down is the only answer for shorter legs, and longer torso.
okay. @@YannickLB
I am in the market for a new road bike and was looking at this bike. Unfortunately, the largest they make it in is a 56 and I need a 58.
You can use 57 on strattos size
5:12 thats not a chopstick prop is it? lol sorry
anything can be chopsticks.
I've never seen such a short seatpost before
Couldn't decide between this polygon or the giant propel 2023/24
Lol nice seat to bar drop xd
lol, short legs...
@@TheBikeSauce shouldn't you take smaller size?
Whats wrong with that? Not a pro look? Does weekend warriors have pro characteristics? You know the answer 😊
@@PhiyackYuh what's wrong is that the bike is to big. That's all lol
🤦🏻♂️
The latest Giant TCR Advanced Disc 1+ is comparably speced and priced.
Made in sidoarjo . Indonesia
I commute on a Polygon Heist for the last 7 years. Their aluminum frames are great. Greetings from Semarang.
If you don't have a lot of cash, please save your $$ on that electronic wireless shifting, and get a pair of sweet wheels and/or tires, or a super nice seat. You are welcome!!
WARNING....I just got my new Bend and it came with defective wheels that wont seal because the valve stem holes are drilled way off center and Polygon will not replace
Most modern rims are drilled asymmetrically by design; it’s meant to balance ds and nds spoke tensions. It doesn’t affect the ability to seal tubeless.
@@TheBikeSauce Wrong, Polygon just admitted they were defective and will now replace them in three months.
👍 I thought ‘Polygon will not replace’ ^^
@@TheBikeSauce Bikesonline did everything they could to reject my claim and only offered to have it retaped, which has nothing to do with the defective wheelset. After many back and forth emails they finally agreed to submit the claim to Polygon. Polygon then acknowledged the defect and will be sending me replacement wheels three months from now, unaceptable. BTW Bikesonline 30 day return policy is marketing BS, if you ride one time you own it without the ability to return it.
@@gregsparks so was it polygon's fault or bikesonline? because here in indonesia, polygon has great customer service and warranty. maybe 3 months shippint time was because they sent you from Indonesia, thousands of miles away from US?
ppl don't use so much electronic shifting in MTB, unless you talk about XC or rich trail riders/sunday warriors.
it just doesn't makes sense, too expensive and too easy to damage and no real advantages - exactly the same as on a road bike (btw, i have ultregra/dura-ace di2 and i don't see any big advantages comparing to ultegra R8000. especially not for the price difference)
GX Axs begs to differ. Seems like some ppl are starting to realize it’s not necessary, but there was a big frenzy when it launched
@@TheBikeSauce new mechs are a disaster, 12s sram is way bigger than 11s XT, GX AXS is even bigger. I was hitting it 1-2 times on every ride (rocks or stumps). wrecked completely after few months, the same happened to my mate's AXS. Now Im back to 11s XT, no problems and no hits at all !
@@razorreeYou must not know how to ride. I ride lots of double black steep tech over all sorts of roots and rocks and in 2yrs of enduro w/ GX AXS never once wrecked it. It literally works flawlessly. I wouldn't buy the new version though that's attached straight to the frame.
@@shadowsun33 yep, me and my 2 mates don't know how to ride...
we ride black trails as well, no, not 'bike park black trails'...
@@razorree I ride in the PNW, sanctioned and unsanctioned trails. We have plenty of places to wreck derailleur and even other people that ride crazy stuff haven't had those issues w/ their AXS. If YOU are wrecking derailleurs than that's just maybe bad luck, which then is the same case w/ your regular derailleur. What's the difference anyway when you wreck something?
ok review. I don't want to hear about things I can see on the website. I want to know how is rides, the measurements, reach, and fit. Kudos for wearing cycling gear, and using clipless pedal. Most of these UA-cam cycling clowns be wearing skinny jeans and sneakers. aka Inja.
Ride review in the works. This is just initial impressions, not a review really
Indonesian brand 👍
Electronic shifting is way too expensive
Looks like a size to big
Dear God...
Looks like the bike is too big for his size
Electronic shifting is just Buisness dictating what we buy once again!
Definitely not!!! You must not have it, so you're ignorant of the point you're making. Electronic shifting is literally flawless and it takes very little to install, esp w/ SRAM. I went electric on my enduro and since never looked back and never will. It's day and night from that tension cable crap.
Indonesia
It's "The groupset of the people" and not "The people's groupset ". You must adhere to the GCN trademark 😂😅
Screw GCN 🤷♂️
A rather heavy tank.
Was this an ad?
8 kilos too heavy for you? 😅
Overview/ initial impressions
Nothing lighter than this even if you spend 2k more...
show me a bike under 20 or even 19 lbs under 5k
I bought one. Immediately swapped the tyres and wheels for Zips etc and I have a great bike
How is the frame quality though? Anyone has experience on any of this bike?
I am no fan of horizontal top tubes and dropped seatstays. An ugly combination. Can't wait for the fad to vanish.
