    The artist is not even mentioned in the Amazon listing. It tells all about her and that’s it! I agree totally with you ... both author and illustrator names should be listed on the front.

    As an artist, I side with having the artist who'd almost as equally important to tarot is the illustration. What helps us decipher naturlaly through instinct when we do our readings

      Agreed, it is such an important aspect of the deck!!!

    I've got the Wisdom of Avalon Oracle cards for about seven or eight years now, and my experience with them is, that they are so spot on, it is almost scary! They were my main form of divination for a couple of years, and they are very blunt, and I didn't always like what they were saying. But they were right nonetheless. Talking about shadowwork! I experienced the Avalon enbergy to be a realy specific energy. Like a grupmy old lady that doesnt take nonsense, hihi! I hope you will enjoy them!

      +natasjavanmeulen :D lol, sounds like my kind of deck, that's why I love Lenormand so much because of that blunt energy! I'm really looking forward to working with it!!

    My favorite decks are Alana Fairchild's Sacred Rebel and Denise Linn's Sacred Destiny. Sacred Rebel is deep and powerful.. The "against the grain" card with the birds swimming under water with the lady PULLED me, several cards and I can see why and the deck is so profound. Words + imagery is powerful. Sacred Destiny is very simple with the 1-2 key words on the cards and the guide book is also quite simple and although short it's very sweet and always accurate. I also adore the imagery. It has been my go to for morning readings and meditation. I still use Energy Oracle and Angels and ancestors sometimes also. Colette is not my favorite but I still use her decks fairly regularly I suppose. I have Native Spirit, Quantum Oracle and Vintage Wisdom and a few others on my WISH list for my 2020 purchases. Nice review! Thank you!! ❤

    I totally agree about the artwork. As someone who has no artistic talent and is making their first Tarot deck I can tell you that the artist (my husband’s) name will be all over the place. On the front and back of the box and in several places in the book. He keeps saying it’s your deck and your idea but “HELLO” the artwork is what people are going to connect with. It’s OUR deck. This would be the case no matter who had done the art for me. I was adamant that the artist and I be partners.

    The Mists of Avalon was one of my favourite books, and I'm pretty sure I still have it. I'll be looking it out to re-read! The Wisdom of Avalon Oracle is one of my stand-by decks, I can count on for helpful insight, though I don't care for the Goblin card either. Your reading was a lovely one, and I'm thinking about you during this time ♥

    @ 12:35 min. "The frog"...I'm sure you've figured it out by now, the frog supposed to be light and airy to be able to jump in the unknown, so to speak, (figuratively), the number 14/5 means change something, move on, jump into the unknown...cleaning house, release emotional baggage...it does make sense to me. Still a nice presentation! T.y.

    Ok, so I ordered the Earth Magic deck last night, but after I went through this review, I also ordered this one as well. I agree with you on the Earth Magic deck that some of the cards kinda don't vibe with it, and I found both decks for under 10 bucks a piece, so I will try this one as well. I am not a tarot reader, I prefer the runes, but I love oracle decks to read with my runes.I only read my runes on full moons but I want something I can pull a quick card for the day or the week. Thanks for doing these because as someone who doesn't read cards a lot, when I see reviews like this I know what to expect and what I will like or what I probably won't.

    I'm drawn to her Wisdom of the hidden realms more, the chess card is really pulling me. Not liking all of the imagery here but some is very beautiful especially the animal cards. I already own her Map and Wisdom of the Oracle. Definitely thinking about Wisdom of the hidden realms. I've considered her Goddess deck but I'm very iffy on it. The animal cards, markers and elements here are stunning on the Avalon deck!

    Colette or maybe Hay House are now treating this deck and the Wisdom of the Hidden Realms like the bad kids that need a time out. At one time all her decks were available in a phone app but now only Wisdom of the Oracle is, although her very recent new deck and the one coming out around the first of next year may have an app. Also, she never ever mentions those 2 decks...it's like they don't exist. But I still love her first 2 decks the best

    Can I get an explanation on the expression Shadow? I have to ask because I don't know what it means when you say "In Shadow". Is it the same as if the card would be reversed?

    • @TheTruthinStory
      @TheTruthinStory  8 років тому

      Yes! Good question! When I say in "shadow" it would be similar to when something is a reversal, although for me that doesn't always mean a reversed meaning, but thinking about what that card would be if it was in shadow.

    Hiya Kelly, want to know a secret? There is an island just off the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales called Bardsey. In Wales we have our claim to king Arthur too lol which I will also go into when I start my series in the spring with the Llewellyn deck. Bardsey island was a place of pilgrimage in medieval times and there are hundreds of saints buried there. It is also the home of the famous Bardsey apple, the Welsh word for apple is Afal or Aval (depending on which context is used in Welsh vocabulary). Bardsey is very difficult to get to by boat due to treacherous currents and of course our lovely Welsh weather! There are only a few certain times it can be reached by boat. The isle of Anglesey is very close by and of course the main base and last stand of the Druids. We have a lot and I mean a lot of mystical, historical places in North Wales. Aval - Avalon!! I need this deck lol 😉
