I got the RS3 earlier this year for this use case, plus retransmitting Ntrip to my M3E. i also decided to start using it for as built surveys - but im not keen on the Emlid Flow survey app. seems odd that you cant export different points and lines into different layers for import into autocad. is this normal for GNSS survey kit?

Not really, I use also Trimble equipment with Trimble Access and the software is way better and you can create your own proper code library.
But that one cost 10 times more for a reason, because it has way more features.
Very soon I will post a review of my experience with RS3 so I hope you subscribed 😉

@@flyingsurveyor yes mate. i do similar to yourself, although more on engineering project management and less on surveying than yourself. Im in Merseyside so cover the NW of England. You can create code libraries in Emlid Flow - you just cant export them which seems a huge own goal. based on your Trimble comment (which i figured was the case but thought i would ask a surveyor!) im going to look into other survey apps. someone must do one. seems crazy to build in a load of CAD time for no good reason.

@@GeeBee1971 awesome! RS3 is not too bad for Land Surveying if you export as CSV and import data in LSS or N4ce. I don't use library and put my codes in the descrisption as you will see in my next video. I bought the receiver for control points and open field topo and does a great job. For intensive setting out I still hire a Trimble.
As I said I have a video coming up where I present my experience working with it and what pro's and cons I found.
      All the best 💪🏻

@@GeeBee1971 for the price that we paid I think it does a decent job.

You just needed to deactivate the tilt compensation. Then it doesn't use the IMU.

Thanks for your comment, you are right. I saw that we have that option, after I posted the video. I usually turn the receiver on from my car and the IMU activates while I walk to the point.
Thank you again for your remark.
