Accurate Surveying on a Budget: Does the Emlid Reach RS2+ pass the test?

- How Accurate is the Emlid Reach RS2+? In this video, we aim to establish a reasonable baseline accuracy for the Emlid Reach base station in the field. To achieve this, we searched NOAA's website to find a survey marker with a high degree of accuracy, and set up our base station directly over it to see what our results would be. We captured data over several different observation time frames ranging from 15 minutes to 4 hours, to test how much accuracy we could expect with limited time in the field.
In addition, we tested the difference between rapid static and static processing on Opus, which has two different processing methods depending on the length of observation time. It's important to note that we are only focusing on the accuracy of the base station in this test, as the accuracy of the entire data set can only be as accurate as the base station.
By establishing the accuracy of the base station, we can predict the accuracy of the entire data set as a whole. Join us as we share our findings and insights from this accuracy test of the Emlid Reach base station.

This is awesome. Great job!
Prob best to color code smallest error using GREEN... most at RED.
"Tribock" haha that's a new one
Great video! This monument is located almost under 3 phase primary voltage power lines and near the higher voltage lines across the street. I would be curious to see how these results compare to a observations in a more clear area.
Same here. The original one we were going to was more exposed, but this one is what we were stuck with for this test. We have done a lot more testing since this was filmed at longer intervals as well.
Good catch!
Have done any more testing with the RS2+. I have one used for drone Lidar PPK, but I want to start using it to shoot in my GCP’s before or after logging. Curious on accuracy for shooting single points.
So much precision in levelling, but how about measuring with the same precision the True ARP height and not the slant ARP height?
How do these work under dense canopy?
Where can i get a case like that?
great test, do you think you can get much better results for the same period of time with other tools, like lieca or trimple. i mean how accurate does Emlid comparing to more expensive tools, does it really deserve to spend that amount of money on trimple for example. your response will be really appreciated .. thanks for the vedio.
We haven't tested the other ones in the same manner, however that would be a great idea for the future. We have been very happy with the emlids.
@@BlueFalconAerial THANK YOU SO MUCH
I recommend you speak more slowly next time. I know I can slow down the playback speed, but it'd be better if that wasn't necessary. This is a complex, technical subject and I think most viewers have the patience to listen for a couple more minutes.
Greatly appreciate the watch and the comment. We are slowing our speaking down and being clearer in future videos. Thanks!
tribRach not tribach 🥲
Oops. Yep, that is on me. I often mispronounce things.
