    Miguel Medina is beyond a flute maker. He is an artist. I am in love with all of his flutes.

    Hey Johnny, some info for your fans and followers… the 7/8” bore g will get a bit less of a high register than the 3/4 bore a.. so if the high octave register is appealing, the A may achieve 1-2 more high octave notes than the G that you carry.. good luck flute enthusiasts!

    Just received the Aeolian G flute that I ordered from you, today. I love it. You really packaged it well. You are right about the smell, it’s delicious. Love your channel!

    I love the Arabian. Might be fun for writing Arabian style music. These are so beautiful. It would be neat to find some in the 8 church modes for playing plainsong chant.

    Ooooh love the sound of these! So A is the smallest I guess. Another great video!

      In this video, I only reviewed the new offerings of A and G, but I also offer High C5 in both tunings on my website. It is smaller than the A.

    Awesome Review Jonny! I've had a chance to play a handfuls of his creations throughout the past 5 years, I can attest to Miguel's upper register specs being of the highest caliber in the world,

    I love the sound of both, especially the Arabian mode.

    I love the G Aeolian and I'm considering ordering one! Do you have info on how it responds to cross-fingering, can it play a chromatic scale?

    • @JonnyLipford
      @JonnyLipford  2 роки тому +1

      This flute is tuned to play easily in the Aeolian mode, but it can play chromatically. The fingering will not follow the normal NAF chromatic fingering chart. Half-holing will be the key here. I do not have a chart for the full chromatic scale for this flute. Feel free to explore and use a tuner to document your finds!

    Where did you get your flute wall mount in the background?

    Which flute was the last one?

      The last flute was the Arabian in high C.

    Is that one of his flutes playing in the background 🤔..if so, what scale and key?

    • @JonnyLipford
      @JonnyLipford  3 роки тому +2

      No, not one of Miguel’s. That song was played with a North Indian instrument called a Bansuri.

      I was wondering about the scale of background music too. Thank you for clarification. What source do you recommend for Bansuri flutes in US? Thanks again

    Hi Jonny, Thanks a lot for your wonderful videos, I really like to know what do you think about southerncrossflutes . have you ever tried any of them? if yes I'd love to know your idea about them.

      Not yet! Don't have any of those in my collection. The shipping and import taxes on those is a bit prohibitive. I might find a used one on eBay one day!

    I bought a no frills singing tree flute. Very disappointed. It is paper thin, not a flute you would want to backpack with or carry around. Its Very breakable. The one I bought wasn't even finished as far as sanding. Definitely not worth the price. I hAve many flutes. MIGUELS NO FRILLS FLUTES are not a good start for beginners or anyone that wants to play outdoors

      There are traveling flutes and non-traveling flutes. I have many that always stay home, even when performing away. "No frills" isn't necessarily meant to be a traveler, but an inexpensive way to get into flutes from Miguel.
