Interesting. Apples are a lot cheaper in NZ, a large bag isn't a lot maybe $3NZD (about $1.80 USD). Red meat & salmon is a lot cheaper here. Fresh NZ lamb is often cheaper in the UK. It would be cheaper to buy a cow a plane ticket and part it out when you land. Chili goes up to 300/kg some years in winter and a very limited verity. Tropical fruit is up to 4X as much here. Electronics are a lot cheaper there but are they a cheaper model? or a lower build quality? Could you get the same amount of protein at a local market as in NZ for a reasonable price? I eat a lot of meat and veg, nothing processed or try not to eat a lot of carbs.500grams+ of red meat or fish a day looks expensive there. Costs a bullet and a afternoon here.
It is so climate dependent for food cost. What used to be imported for me back in USA, hence expensive, is grown locally here and cheap.. and vis-versa. So apples are expensive here but mangos are so cheap! Food cost add up quickly here, have to sacrifice quality for price. I'm not sure about electronics, you can buy cheaply made no name brands but.. you get what you pay for. This store is like a restaurant supplier, so prices are pretty good to what's available else where here (not counting the markets that have the meat sitting out all day in the sun ..with flies).
Thanks Domey! I was so surprised when I converted the Milk price. I remember feeling the same way about the meat when I first arrived, now I'm kind of numb to it. ( Specifically to you Domey ... Your choice, would you rather the next video be a "My Rent Cost" video or a "Wan Cooking/Teaching a Thai Food Dish" video?)
It was a question ...which would YOU like to see next? I was giving you the honors of picking the next 1? Which would you be MORE interested in seeing?
I've been debating this specific issue about meat at the market. I was a Food Safety Manager for years and the standards here go against everything I have learned about Bacteria growing and poor food storage and all that good stuff. Thanks for commenting.
Great video bud! Keep up the good work.
Thank you. I'm still trying to learn and improve. I appreciate the comment.
I found Macro better prices than LOTUS or BIG C 👍
Smart thai Lady you are with 🎉
I agree, Marko prices are better for MOST items. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment.

I know that store, we had that one in Belgium to. They had to close...bankrupt
Oh really?! I thought it was only a Thai chain.. I didn't know.
Interesting! Mostly good prices compared to Michigan.
I didn't like the meat being right out in the touch and sneeze zone though.
🤮

@@IDKThailand Actually, it sounds like those should be the next 2 videos.

Better than in the heat in a wet market getting fly blown. Cheaper at the wet market, I'd just go at the crack of dawn.
