- An 8mm live-sound film I shot of the now-dismantled 10.25-inch narrow-gauge steam railway on the West Scottish island of Mull, which ran from Craignure Pier for a mile and a quarter to Torosay Castle, during the first year of its official opening. The line closed in 2010, and dismantled in 2012.
A highly evocative piece of filming, the railway was very busy that day too, really nice to see. There is an engine at 5:30 partially covered by tarpaulin, I don't remember seeing that when we went many years later.
I remember it well, been a few times (the loco was blue then)... Sadly gone.
If I remember right, there had been hope of it reopening over at Loch Lomond but it fell through.
Hi Douglas, I'd love to chat to you about your cinefilms. Can you reply here or give me an email to contact you?
Many thanks
Paul
