  • This is a 5 volt DC, 3 amp. linear power supply that uses an LM-323 regulator.
    It is built onto the back of a large, thick, aluminum heatsink that has 2.5 inch tall fins on the other side. It is a dual power supply. It also puts out 9 volts DC at 1.0 amp. The voltmeter/ammeter
    only monitors the 5 volt portion. The 5 volt power supply is operating a few things at this time,
    hence the 0.4 amp. standby current. Nearest I can tell about the old Weston meter is it's
    most likely from the 1920s or 1930s at the latest.
