Anyone else feel like they need a video showing/explaining the differences between lite feet, house, hip hop, locking, and all the rest or is that just me👀
Kai Dragon also seemed to kind of get House - but it can be incredibly difficult to get into those softer movements when you're learning a new choreo at the same time.
Agreed. She said she didn't do a good job of punctuating the movements, but I actually thought her house background brought a fluidity to the choreography that was very pleasing to watch
House to me is one of the most enjoyable dances to watch on great dancers! They look so airy, light and upbeat! Everything looks so easy! And then I try it and it's the craziest cardio session ever. 😂 ... Also that footwork fries my brain every time, haha. Both groups did each others' choreos really well! 🔥
This was really interesting and great for me to see how different both styles are!! I have a challange: follow a steezy tutorial without seeing anything, just hearing. Or just hearing the noises like tcha tchaa, boom boom and try to figure which dance move it is and then compare to the original dance at the end.
The House dancers made the light feet routine look so relaxed. It's like they couldn't help but deliver the House vibe with it. 🤷🏾♀️ That's why it looked so easy.
Damn this series is showing me tons of dance styles I didn't know existed. I've always wanted to dance but I'm so unco... this is motivating me to just find a style I can pull off xD
this isnt blowing up like it should, this is seriously SO awesome! great insight to really interesting dance styles that are cut from the same cloth. super great stuff!
Oh das dope!! House and Lite feet can really complement each other, theres this house instructor in my country that collabed with his litefeet friend and taught what he called a "litehouse" class where he combined litefeet and house techniques
Oh my goodness. You House dancers did awesome with the Lite feet. Yall don't seem to think so good, but you did very well. The choreography for both styles were very entertaining 👏🏾
Anything else thought that lite feet and house were different terms for the same thing? I actually didn't know about the differences until this video 😅
For me it’s completely different. But maybe because i’m dancing house for quite a while now. There is is certain “up going groove” in house that you can’t find in lite feet, it contributes to the groovy and smooth look. Sorry english isn’t my first language i tried to find the right words
How about Ballet and Belly dance? If you'll let me get geeky and technical about dance for a minute: Ok, I've been dancing for 30 years, I'm 6'3" and male, and I've never heard any one talk about how Belly dance and Ballet are mechanically Really Different. In my experience there seems to be very little overlap in dancers. Specifically the posture/position of the torso in ballet is fundamentally different than the torso position in belly dance. Please don't tell me they are the same, I've been corrected in a ballet class for doing a belly dance posture. Though, possibly since the male pelvis is different to the female pelvic that might make it a little different for my technique, but I don't think so. Possibly my height makes that difference more noticeable to me. To a non-dancer the difference in posture might feel subtle, but for example trying to do the more fancy belly dance hip movements with a ballet torso posture is, at best, not great for the lower back. I've heard ballet described as being expressive with the limbs while belly dance is expressive with the torso (specifically the ribcage, abdominals, and hips/pelvic bone). And because in ten years of belly dancing on all of the internet, I've only ever seen this described well once in a UA-cam video that's now either removed or private, and I don't know how much your team knows, I'm going to tell you the difference between the masculine and feminine style. Because in belly dance, there is a difference, though most examples that I've found are only of the feminine kind even when the dancer is male. When I say masculine and feminine, no positive or negative associations there. Only there are ways of doing belly dance that, if you only saw the outline of the person, one way will make you look more female, the other will make you look more male, and it is also possible to do it in a more gender neutral way (though that's a bit more technical, I think). For masculine belly dancing, exact same movements but no matter the movement, no matter how big or small, there is a statement of power behind the movement. Behind every hip circle, belly roll, ribcage isolation is a contained explosive power. That's not how it was first described to me, but that's how I understand it. (Every female dancer I've discussed it with, well it's not exactly a feminine way of moving. They seem to like and think it's pretty different.)
For another this vs that. You should do a free dancer ver a choreographer dancer. I want to see how different it is for a dancer to fell the music and dance however they fell vs what they are told to do
Anyone else feel like they need a video showing/explaining the differences between lite feet, house, hip hop, locking, and all the rest or is that just me👀
Yessss! Just don't understand lite feet at all
there’s always a difference in the music played, dance moves and history each genre has im sorry but this is the best i can explain HAHA

Agreed. She said she didn't do a good job of punctuating the movements, but I actually thought her house background brought a fluidity to the choreography that was very pleasing to watch
Kai really sailed smoothly through the house piece
Jesse and G'Bari could definitely pass as Lite Feet dancers. That was clean

You should look up Chicago Footwork it’s like house but faster.
I love how each group added their own little flavour to the pieces, very enjoyably to watch
This was really interesting and great for me to see how different both styles are!!

House dancers definitely look more versatile in learning LiteFeet.

Anything else thought that lite feet and house were different terms for the same thing? I actually didn't know about the differences until this video 😅
It‘s two whole different styles with different foundations and roots 😄
For me it’s completely different. But maybe because i’m dancing house for quite a while now. There is is certain “up going groove” in house that you can’t find in lite feet, it contributes to the groovy and smooth look. Sorry english isn’t my first language i tried to find the right words
start with the music. the music is worlds apart.
lite feet is young and has early gen z/ late millienial roots as it started in the early 2000's in nyc. House is of course a lot older.
