James Caan directed and starred in Hide in Plain Sight, a very good but overlooked movie. It's worth watching. And yes, he was wonderful with Streisand, I thought they made a great team.
There was such a character gap between Funny Girl and Funny Lady. In the first movie Streisand plays a likable underdog who wins everyone's heart as she becomes a major star. Funny Lady presented a Fanny Brice who has become harder edged and not as happy with life. If you examine these two roles carefully you should notice the difference in tone.
So true, but what's so wonderful about the difference is it's true to life..it's what happens when life beats you down...you become harder and not so naive...
Rosie's show was so good. I was so disappointed when she ended it, or rather, handed it off to the horribly unfunny Caroline Rhea who promptly sent it in to the scrap heap of failed daytime TV shows.
He's got the voice and character to make you listen to him all day
RIP James Caan 💙
So cute! Love the chemistry! ❤️
Love hearing stories about Barbra. I love her.
So long James Caan x What a guy x What an actor x Sonny Corleone 💙

I love Funny Lady.
Good impression 👏
Who knew......Barbra Streisand was so right about talcum power being so toxic..

By all accounts the Fanny of Funny Lady was much closer to the real life Brice. Funny Girl was more about Streisand than Brice.
Eeesh. Somehow I thought he was a bit......brighter, than he seems here.
He’s been married 4-5 times.......CON......he is likeable though, but then again so was Doris Day, my hero

I like Caan but I failed to see the chemistry in Funny Lady. Likely just me. I did love when he kissed her nose.

To Americans everybody is a legend in acting. I don’t get it?
I'm paraphrasing here what Trump said " No only Rosie O'Donnell"
Disliked Funny Lady. loved Babs!
