    Fan theories I've read say Regina and Janis were friends back in the day, but Regina mistaken Janis for being lesbian when she's actually Lebanese. That's the whole joke/misunderstanding that Regina had.

      How you conclude that when she said she thought Janice was lesbian because she was jealous of her boyfriend?

    • @LeoRichVids
      @LeoRichVids 10 місяців тому +14

      @@cptcordero IDK how Regina came up with that conclusion since Janice isn't a lesbian. Janice ended up with Kevin at the end of the movie, so that would throw Regina's assumptions that she's a lesbian out the window. Regina lies, so maybe she lied to Cady about that 🤷‍♂️, just like she lied about liking Cady's bracelet to her face, or liking that vintage skirt on the other girl.

      @@LeoRichVidsyeah but she also tried kissing her best friend which is a gay male so she could be pansexual. The fact she gave it a shot. Normal heterosexual women would never try that but they were both okay with it cause she’s more masculine and he’s more feminine

    • @krautgazer
      @krautgazer 10 місяців тому +16

      @@Hinokami777 She's not a pansexual because she tried to kiss her gay male friend. His gender is still male. She was kissing a man. A heterosexual woman being attracted to a gay man does not make her bi or pansexual, even if he has feminine traits (a lot of straight girls like guys with more feminine traits - remember when "emo sensitive boys" were in fashion? A present-day example would be internet "e-boys"). Aside from that, I like the "lesbian/Lebanese" theory - yes, she said Janis was jealous of her boyfriend but she might have created that in her head after Janis said she was "Lebanese".

    Hindsight is really a wild thing because my dad tried so hard to tell me that high school doesn't matter and I just wouldn't listen and thought everything happening was such a huge deal. Now at 35 I look back and just laugh.

    • @EverybodyLovesSarah
      @EverybodyLovesSarah 10 місяців тому +10

      Because it DOES matter while you’re there. You have to go there every day and face whatever BS is happening. You literally have no choice but to participate in the stupid shit. Plus I felt equally judged by bullies and friends equally which made it 100x harder and I’m sure others can relate.

      @@roddo1955I watched this movie in which one character was crying to her husband about some woman he was talking to at a party that turned out to be a mean girl in high school.
      The husband was baffled and told her the same thing you said. High school is over.
      The character looked at him and said, "High school is Never over."
      I remember being blown away that there are people who think like this. And then realized why I'm generally happier working and hanging out with a predominately male group

      @EverybodyLovesSarah In high school, I decided to opt out of talking behind people's backs. I had so many people from higher social status confiding in me how little security they felt in their friendships. It really opened my eyes to how crushing seeking popularity is, even to the "winners."

    • @joshfacio9379

      Yup, the most popular kid whos surrounded by "friends" often is very lonely.

  • @strawberrysoulforever8336
    @strawberrysoulforever8336 7 місяців тому +6

    I'm listening to the way Rachel McAdams speaks at the start of the movie and thinking "Did she intentionally emulate Kimberley Walker's voice or is that a coincidence?" Walker also played a queen bee and she had this soft iron-fist-in-a-velvet-glove voice back in 1988's black comedy cult classic Heathers. Regina was just very lucky the girl she invited into her clique was the new kid and didn’t develop a crush on a psychopath who would watch the world burn and add a bit of fuel to the pyre of the popular kids.

    15:46 When he turns and says “how’d you do?” He genuinely sounds excited to see her do good. For her to get 99 or 100 but then she starts acting dumb and when she tells him hes offended. He liked that she was smart and different.

    Gretchen is my favorite plastic. However, Regina or her mom stole the show. I feel like Ms. Norbury is the true sane and understanding character in this movie who truly helped Cady.

    Nick, since you brought up "Modern Family", one of my favorite exchanges between Haley and Alex was when Alex was going to be going into high school and Haley didn't want her to be unpopular & known as a nerd and says to Alex, "If you do this, you'll be a social piranha!" to which Alex replies, "Yes, I'll be an Amazonian carnivorous fish." which leaves Haley with a perplexed, confused and "why do I bother to help her?" look on her face.

    There's a great analysis video of this movie which suggests that the meanest girl in the school isn't Regina, but Janis, who uses Cady to enact her own revenge on Regina, never pronounces her name correctly (a sign of disrespect) then turns on Cady when the revenge plan starts to backfire. Her apology during the trust fall is the only one that isn't genuine too.

    • @jeffbartholomew1152
      @jeffbartholomew1152 10 місяців тому +3

      Definitely. Janis is often the overlooked antagonist in this story. Her friendship with Cady is built primarily on her revenge plan to infiltrate the plastics. The plastics relationship with Cady was based merely on superficial notions.

    OMG, Nick and Jen. That review was so FETCH!!!
    Now behind the scenes, both the actors that played Aaron Samuels and Damien have come out as Gay. Yes Jen you were right, Janis was named after the singer. And you were so funny scolding Nick during the Christmas pagent scene. The dude from the Matheletes who said he was an MC became a DJ/MC in Calgary. And Tim Meadows actually had a broken arm when he played the principal.
    And once again, totally awesome review. Thanks so much for your hard work on this one. It was great.

    Hey guys. I just wanted to say that I'm really looking forward for you to react to the matrix sequels but I also wanted to say that you should react to "the animatrix" before.
    These are 9 shorts stories on the matrix universe who helps to understand it and to elarge the universe and the lore. Actually there are only 4 of the 9 that really matters to better understand the matrix sequels :
    -The second Renaissance : It's a matrix prequel which tells what happened between humans and machines and why the matrix was created
    -A kid's story : Origin story of a new character in matrix 2 & 3
    -Last flight of the Osiris : It's an introduction to matrix reloaded, litterally a couple of hours before.

    A Note about the Aunt: I used to wonder about her too, but now I'd suspect she could have something like dementia or Alzheimer's, which can make you very frustrated and potentially lash out, even to those trying to help, and that would make sense to why she's in a home, too.

Also as a gay person we dont fancy everbody the same sex as us. i have a husband too so who i would not trade for the world because i love his soul and how he looks is just a bonus to me so im good its mad that people think that. i have respect and would not even have tryed it with someone not that way inclined when i was single as i expect to be respected to so it goes both ways. But yeah awesome video. 😂✌🏻🌈🇬🇧
