    Correction fellas. Deion didn't bring up GPA because he thought OTHERS would bring it up. He brought it up because it is important to HIM. It has been since he started coaching. That's why even last pre season he was talking about how despite all of the transfers, the football team posted their highest average GPA in team history. He put that target on his own back because he's always operated in that way. It's just that when certain people do it, it's called being "bold" or "confident" and when others do it it's labeled "arrogant" or "cocky". That's evident from the flame he got for not being bowl eligible in the first season of a complete program rebuild, despite never actually promising anything but improvement. For context, last dozen or so national championship coaches including Saban, Meyer, Harbaugh, Smart, etc all struggled with poor first seasons in their rebuild process. That's how college football works. But Deion has lived in that space for pretty much his entire career, and he's comfortable there. What I'm much more curious to see is how the new additions to his coaching staff pan out, and whether his unorthodox approach to recruiting will ultimately come back to bite him.

  • @nas7815
    @nas7815 20 днів тому +5

    As a player Deion had the talent to back up the swagger which made him great. His team however, doesn’t have the talent YET but they act as if they have Primetime Deion Swagger. Big difference. I also like the fact that he wants his players to be good men and get an education. Colorado isn’t a football factory so his players will need a skill set to fall back on when they don’t get in the NFL.

    Nope…he created too much hype and all these stars attend CU’s games. I live in Colorado and was excited he took over the program. Now I have some doubts. The big issue I have is he is hyping up his son, but he needs to hype up his entire team. The big thing is CU hired him at the right time because CU had the worst football program in the PAC 12 but did not get left behind like WSU and OSU.

    I wouldn't ask a man to change what works for him, as far as his attitude for excellence- Don't players have to have a certain grade point avg to play anyway- if you let them play anyway because you want to win, then the integrity of the program is suspect, but if they are relegated to sitting on the bench for gpa, who could argue with you about that? Secondly, IMO, whether intentional or not, Deion is bigger than the program, so there remains a target on the program's back from other opponents. When it becomes about Colorado Buff Football and only Colorado Buff Football, I believe then you see a shift in culture

      You just don’t get it my brother they don’t care about anybody else grades but Colorado and Deion Sanders. If he start winning, they gonna look at something else I’m a get you for example. I know you heard about it juju Lewis five star all year long heaven season this year, they dropped him from a five star to a four star and what the reason because he went on a visit to Colorado in June and a lot of people saying that he might flip from USC to Colorado now check it out on three drop them to four star and 247 sports drop him to a four star make it make sense check it out you will understand then

    Deion loves the spotlight and being the center of attention but with that mindset you have to be willing to take the bad with the good attention and he`s not that good with dealing with the bad and if you don`t like it then fly under the radar and just quietly coach, it`s a simple choice.

I guess a national story about him forcing the whole team to go to a concert was his fault also not just people telling obvious lies.

    No I in team right? Colorado is who their record says they are. He can deflect all he wants but the play and records are being judged. He is putting target on himself, which takes away from viewing the team on their own merits.

    As a black coach, no doubt that Deion would be judged if he went undefeated, but all his players failed trig or history. But as an egomaniac, he brings a ton of pressure on himself.

If you’re a coach worth your salt you will create good men of society not just young boys who can throw a ball around. Do better
