A boat broke down in Mexico with a German band. They had no money and could not speak the language. They starting playing polka music & the Mexicans loved it. That's how polka music got the Mexico.
This reminds me of polka dancing around my great aunt and great uncle's kitchen. My great uncle past last year in the end of September and my great aunt has dementia. Oh I miss the dancing. He was a phenomenal dancer. I mean like Gene Kelly level good at dancing. Oh he was so much fun at weddings!
I was brought up with Polka Music. It brings me back when my Dear Mother was alive we always listen to the music together. Now I miss those days so much but I still listen to the music. The music keeps me happy all of the time You might say I am a Polka Music Nut can't get enough of the music
Love polka music. Years ago, I belonged to a Sherlock Holmes group that held meetings in a German tavern, and there was a polka band. I don't think I've ever been twirled so much in my life! Loved every second, and the music -- wow
Hello everyone! I'm speechless, you have many !! I thought people did not like most of today the dear old Polka, thank you thank you thank you !! Listen too the second volume of The Best Polkas of Myron Floren: The Best Polkas of Myron Floren 2° Vol. !!
I'd love to live in a village in North Dakota where the people are merry and listen to music like this all the day long. I worked at Busch Gardens The Old Country in 1975, and there was a little village named Rhinefeld [sic] and they had polka and oompah-band music from a live band all the day long. Happifying! And there was the Burgermeister, Bob Bauman, strolling around in his lederhosen, drinking beer and singing songs. 28.08.16
Love Myron growing up. My brother played accordion and also loved this very pleasant and talented man. Polkas are Happy Music and Myron is excellent. I miss the old days when my grandmother would turn on Lawrence Welk and I'd hear him. Makes you want to DANCE :)
I love Myron and polka with all my heart. Polka found me when I was in a bad place and brought me back in the light I don't know where I would be without it. Also shout out to Amber for inspiring this joyful attitude. :)
My grandma was an avid lover of polka we played it for him on his deathbed, I’m sure he is dancing to it now in heaven having a great time. Can’t wait to see him again. I play polkas for my kids to keep it going passed down from him. He was of Slavic and Polish descent
We had a TV show called Polka Varieties that would play on the weekends in Cleveland. Grandma used to dance on it. This music takes me back. God, how I miss her!
My parents and grandparents on my moms side loved this music. We are Russian, Slovak, and Hungarian. We listened to Gypsy music as well. I'm Scottish, and German on my fathers side. I like this music at weddings and graduation parties. 😁
Never thought I'd like polka 'cause God knows Mexican Regional music gets the shit out of me. When it comes to Mexican music, I'd rather listen to some good ol' rancheras with the voice of Javier Solís.
I don't get why people dislike polka and the accordion. The accordion is one of the more interesting sounding instruments out there, and when someone is good at playing it it sounds beautiful. The bagpipes on the other hand....
In Mexico, true Mexicans, we deeply love our cultural heritage, and after mariachi music POLKA is a huge part of our repertoire and it’s the cultural representation of at least 5 of our northern states thanks to the massive German and Czech Republican immigration to Mexico in the 1880s. The most famous and traditional Mexican polka is : La Cápsula, Evangelina, Jesusita en Chihuahua, etc. Please check them out Thank you 🙏🏼 You brought it. We made it better 🇲🇽 🇩🇪🇨🇿

It may be almost spring, but this puts me in the mood for beer, brats, kraut, wiener schnitzel, hot potato salad, spaetzle and the best looking fraulein this side of Munich. Don't forget the freshly made homemade caraway rye bread though or else you'll be spending all night on the can.

Listening to this in honor of my grandfather who passed 3 years ago today. He loooved his polka music. This one's for you Papa Spud!
Your Papa Spud sounds like a great man, if his taste of music has anything to say about it.
Being Polish, I grew up on Polka music. I have wonderful memories dancing at family weddings. I always listen to Polka music every Dyngus Day.
Brings back so many loving memories of my grandparents

When I was four, I was listening to awesome Polka like this. 26 years later. I still am, and do not regret one minute of it.
I learned polka music from my Dad years ago. He was German from Kalterkircken, Germany. Loved it. We used watch Lawrence Welk, religiously.

hmm interesting to see so many little thing they have adopted from Europe; for example, piñatas, mariachi, the Italian accordion, garibaldi and so on.
Hector Lalalala Mexicans got Polka from German immigrants to northern Mexico. the Germans also started Mexicos first real beer industry.
