I agree about the Wireless Carplay. In my case it's Android auto, but same issue.. I purchased an aawireles dongle and cunnect it stroage console between the seats. It's worked great for my wireless connectivity. I've had to re-pair it with the Jeep/Uconnect a couple times, but that had more to do with my phone O/S updates and not the dongle. The AAWireless dongle has had 2 updates in the last year and a half since I've owned it, and worked without issue each time. With respect to the pedestrian sound it makes in electric mode. There are was to wire it's speaker to a an Aux switch. Then when you're not on the streets, but offroad, you could switch that speaker off and enjoy the sounds of nature as you drive. Thanks for you content. It was really well done, great job.
Thanks for the video. Been strongly considering the 4Xe. IMO a few of your “hates” are things that a new buyer should be aware of and accept before deciding on a 4Xe. The bump, electric component sounds and amplified cabin noise in an already noisy Jeep. None of these should be a surprise. The Price is a tough pill to swallow especially considering how much they’ve gone up since they came out. FORM inconsistencies is the one that gives me the most pause. Keep enjoying your Jeep and stay safe!
Overall I’m happy with the 4XE and would definitely recommend. This electric “revolution” will bring about some growing pains. But I think Jeep did pretty well here. Thanks for watching!
This is a great list. The FORM issues drive me nuts too. My Jeep never has issues but just reading all of the weird frustrations from the community are aggravating. I'm encouraged that Jeep is addressing the issue but I feel like the time to response could be better. We're coming up on two years for a lot of people. I recently picked up the QuadLock CarPlay device. So far, I'm giving it a strong B+ on performance compared to the C I gave the Garlin.
I just bought mine this month. I love the noise. It’s a nerdy thing i guess. Sort of like star wars. It off roads wonderfully. I had a two dr JK before this. I have to pick lines carefully but the torque is crazy good. I haven’t had the FORM experience yet. Probably because I’m 75% gas due to my commute. I am getting around 25 mpg with a light right pedal. love my 4xe. I feel like i have some control of gas prices. I did say…….SOME. Great video. Thx for sharing.
Great video! You mentioned "hopefully prices would level out with competition from Bronco, etc." That ain't happening...unfortunately. The new Rubicon X will come at over 70k now...I think they are all increasing a bit in price, which ain't good. Enjoyed the video. Well done!
I really believe the rate of increase will slow down. Otherwise we’re in trouble. Chekc out my video on the 2024 Jeep Wrangler. I think Jeep doing a Willy’s with a rear locker at the lower price point is a good sign.
I travel for a living and I’m in a lot of rental cars. I find that the wireless car play is very unstable and not worth it. Maybe eventually with some software updates it might get better. Normally when I’m driving I need to change my phone anyways so it’s most likely plugged away.
I have always had a question about electric and off road vehicles. Keeping in mind that lithium battery fires are extremely difficult to put out, Tesla has proven this, what happens if one of these jeeps batteries catches fire from rolling or crashing it in the mtns, desert or back roads? I don’t think the two fire extinguishers I carry in our jk will do the job. Just wondering. Happy jeepin’.
I actually made a video on the 2024 you’ll have to check out. It’s a mild refresh so a lot of my gripes haven’t been handled. but I’m excited about the new model year there’s some great content in a few of the packages.
@@ajarmour We were on the fence for buying a 2023 until the 2024 updates were announced. Our issues were that we wanted more tow capacity, the seats getting updated, and we wanted a better infotainment system with wireless carplay. Those were all things we would have to add to our purchase price and now we don't have to. That said, the pricing for the steel bumper + winch looks to be $3500 and you can do a much less expensive bumper/winch combo, and use the rest to buy tires and wheels.
Traded my 2022 4XE Rubicon back in January due to a fault that the dealership was not able to figure out and as of today is still sitting at the dealership. Went with a Ram Laramie, wishing I never traded my 2018 Wrangler in for the 4XE. Live and learn I guess, I felt like a Guinea pig when I came to the 4XE. To many issues and not enough techs to deal with the ongoing issues going on with the 4XE’s…
I get around 25 miles of electric on a fill charge. After that it’s hybrid. You still get 375 hp and 470 torque with empty battery just not free gas miles.
FORM has ruined the 4XE for me. I can't drive it in electric for 4 moths now and the oil life went to 0% after 3 weeks of changing the oil. Any solutions for this ?
FORM Sucks, They should disable the start stop function in E-save. I live in a colder winter climate. E-save runs the motor to save battery.. Well then, let me save Battery While preventing FORM. In colder weather my engine comes on, So ill put it in E-save IN an attempt to reach engine Op temp to prevent FORM. Only the engine shuts off at every traffic light every stop sign or even if i reach a city speed the engine turns off while still cold. I realize it's suppose to be a hybrid but those start stops on a cold engine cause FORM there Jeep. I also shouldn't have to run in manual mode to keep the motor running just to reach Op Temp And it works the cold motor harder. Jeep you should set the engine shut off temp a bit higher or disable it in E-save. Work in Progress i guess, Cheers all
That noise in electric mode you are hearing, that is normal all electric vehicles have to make a noise on the outside for pedestrians to be aware of your vehicle.

Thanks for the recommendation. Yes form is frustrating. I definitely agree the communication could be better.
Thanks for your video. I’m considering buying the 4xe.
Thanks for watching, I like my 4XE and hope you will too!

My 4XE has been great! It killer on the trail too. Thanks for watching!
Light bar looks so sweet!!
I love it!

Yeah it doesn’t feel like it’s quite there yet does it?
Love that since the software update the startup defaults to battery, not hybrid!
Yeah that’s a nice change.

Hadn’t thought too much in to it. I’d be very interested to see what that may look like.
Carobotor has a nice aftermarket infotainment system
I’ll have to check it out. Thanks!
JEEPS ARE POPULAR - That is why is is so expensive, the highest resale vehicle here in Canada.👍🏾👍🏾
Oh I get it. Supply and demand!
What are your thoughts on this given the changes coming to the 2024 Wranglers (and 4Xe)?

Can I ask? What was the issue?
I would love to have heard about your range? Good video

One thing I wish jeep would do is create power seats 💺
Me too!
Once I set my seats I never adjust them again so there's no point for power seats for me.
FORM has ruined the 4XE for me. I can't drive it in electric for 4 moths now and the oil life went to 0% after 3 weeks of changing the oil. Any solutions for this ?
From what I understand there is an update in the works. I have reset my oil life and form goes away but I don’t want to be recommending that.
Wait until those hinges start to rust.
Trust me, trying my hardest to avoid it.
@@ajarmour I hear ya, I'm on the ropes buying one but that issue is blocking me.
It sounds like a adult power wheel
Yes it does

It does suck. Or at least this iteration does. We’ll see…

Oh yeah I know. It just drive me nuts personally.
