every german learns english at school from a very young age - sometimes they even start english at kindergarten - and so they have some basic skills as they need it for european work, too.
Germany has well-trained police, strictly monitored gun laws and a vigilant but liberal population. No fool can just get a gun here. We are a peaceful country.
Every citizen can adopt a dog from the nearest animal shelter and take it with them as a companion everywhere: bus, train, restaurant, dark alleys or dark parks. From my own experience: A dog is much better protection than any weapon.
In Germany, everyone who looks after themselves and doesn't annoy others is welcome.
i got 25 days a year for vacation but in the end it is 35 days. because the weekends in between dont count as vacation, only monday to friday. like your videos

yes, unfortunately they occupy many countries.. Most people don't want USA soldiers in their country!! Whoever you are there, at least give a little something to the culture!!! Fuck USA soldiers who don't even want to learn the language of the country they occupy USA = war criminals

Adapting into german/y isnt crazy as an american. English is an germanic language. There is footage of recreating old english language and i swear, i understand any word they say bcs it sounds VERY much like nordic german(accent ofc), but well, language changes alot over time.
but tbh, there is some accents here in this country.. which i can or barely understand as a high german enjoyer. Tbh my english isnt good aswell, kinda mediocre at best and noone calls me out "racist" bcs i dont speak and write it properly.
Germans: "Oh great. The Train is running 20 minutes late." American to the German: "You guys actually HAVE Trains?!"

In my Sport American Football 🏈 are many Guys from the US in west Germany. This make it easy to live here.
It's not that surprising that there so many US expats in Mexico. A lot of states have a strong Mexican-American community, and if you have Meixcan heritage you might want to live there.
Right, what's kinda strange is that even though many people have relatives or a strong connection with Mexico / mexicans, the right wing wants to get rid of them. I think that's crazy.

Dont forget, here in germany, we have a lot of american things in here germany. Food, Music, Movies all that stuff. And a lot of germans can speak english. When i was a kid, i wanted to live in USA. As a adult i was several times in the usa to make vaccation. But i like to hear that americans feel comfortable to live in germany.

Regarding American Football in Germany: If we would talk about 25 or more years ago. I would have agreed that having a professional american football league in germany would be insane, because it could be a big financial risk. Basketball and even Pro Wrestling (WWF/WWE, of course) was so much more popular. While Basktetball still is popular. American Football got more fans than pro Wrestling. More and more germans watch the Super Bowl, even live (which means US time, which is very early in the morning or in the middle of the night to us, depending where the game is.) So lucky for him germany became a place to make a living with that sport, these days.
If we talk abut an american sport that has close to 0 fans in germany, it might be Baseball.

I think a part he left out (in part) is the fact the after winning WWII - there where military bases also of the USA all over Europe, Including Germany, and how Germany and Berlin was divided by the US, UK, USSR & France in four zones. It was agreed that after Germany's surrender, Germany would be temporarily split into four zones. Britain, the USA, France and the USSR would each control a zone. Berlin, the capital of Germany, would also be temporarily split into four zones, administered by the same countries.
Only thing here is the majority now days of the US expat's are found in the "French" zone and the Black Forest area so to speak. Which probably has more to do with the fact that this is close to NL, BE, LUX, Fr, Swiz, Austria, It, etc.

I myself don't live that far from the AFCENT (American Airforce) base in Brunssum, NL. Also not that far from this is the (American Airforce) Geilenkirchen base in DE. This is in that area of the French zone in Germany and across the border of Germany on the west side.
Compared to German, English is way easier as a language - it is not that hard to learn also with all the social media, and media (movies) that is how the globe "Americanized" and this is the dominant language ((American) English).
British English sounds posh, American sounds self-made, the language of the people. Australian sounds laid back, Canadian sounds very similar to American English at the; About is a dead give away for Canadian English in sound.
Canada very similar to America is a little strange. English is the offical language in Canada, but the Canadian French area's are actually the largest in populations. Canada the bi-lingual twister.

Also in that order; in a 2022 ranking of all countries not just European, but the only non European in the top 10 listing in Singapore.
Spanish is a global language with the Latin American languages. French has more of an elite feel, also in part connected to history in Europe and the French language. French, German, English are the "political" languages in Brussels. The "Dutch" have been shadow players for a very long time.

Italy comes in at 32, Spain at 33 and France at 34. Germany comes in at number 10 in this listing.
If we look at capital cities; Amsterdam (NL) again is number 1. Copenhagen is number 2, and Stockholm is number 3. Berlin comes in at 18.
The Netherlands some how have for a very long time been the top runners in being proficient in speaking/understanding English.
With the historical feud between Britain and France it is not that surprising France scores lowest from all Western European countries, besides that Spanish, Italian, and French are latin based languages, older than English. English in fact is for the largest part a mix of Germanic and French linguistically speaking, and one of the "youngest" languages in Europe, Celtic based languages are ancient, and also found in the United Kingdom, but these are not "English" but Welsh, and Galic Scottish, not sure if we should count Irish with this listing. This pattern is about human displacements/migrations.
Happiness = Reality -/- expectations. Lower expectations = higher happiness perceptions when it comes to facing reality. Why growing up sucks, lol.
You realize your expectations don't conform with the reality that much; no Santa, no Easter bunny, no magical sky daddy, etc. just the harsh and ungly reality of life. Why we put so much effort in wanting kids to be happy and make them believe in Santa, Easter bunny, etc. A catch 22.
The third aspect [Easier to have a comfortable life] I found a little bit ironically funny. Since the American lifestyle gets promoted as the most convenient, comfortable and easy life aka the American Dream. Everything is bigger and better in the USA. American exceptionalism.
Propaganda's are so effective, as is shown again. Over and over. American propaganda at this point in time has become laughable.
Obama probably was the US peak moment, with Trump all went crashing down hill.
I get the foreign yet familiar aspect, but that is probably in more Germanic places like wise.
There are loads of social aspects from the Germanic cultures and history that we still cherish today.
Exceed expectations - because it has been "the butt of the joke" in American context of American culture, also related to WWII and US "winning" from Germany. Forgetting a lot of the "scientific" discoveries came from here. From cars and rocket technologies to psychology and medical aspects.
I know English is not the "official" language of the US, but there has been a time that "Dutch" speaking Americans still talk about how their home-tongue got stripped form their language, just like native Americans, and others have gotten. Assimilations.
Multifaceted aspects that play a big part in the complexity of the whole (big picture).
The important part is, to curb your expectations Giobozz. Germany can be a great experience, but will pose it's own predicaments for you. One of the most obvious is racism. BUT: racism in Germany is completely different than in the USA. Not necessarily better or worse, but different. The good part about it: once you are fully fluent in the language, even better the local dialect, and managed to crack the german coconut mentality, a lot of that will vanish, in a way impossible in the USA. Not 100% mind you, there are still nasty idiots, or simply ignorant people. But for most people over here, being german is a culture, which can be "learned", not an inborn "ethnicity". Just stay clear of the "expats only" trap, and you'll probably manage.
So yeah, if you can handle the balance between your joyous fascination with, as well as low expectations of Germany, give moving here a more serious thought.

More americans who have german roots re-discovering it, some even the language. To have german ancestors was not a bad thing in the US till WW1, for obvious reason and WWE2 didn't make it any better. But now it seems that people in the US let the past be the past and move on and have less a problem to admit that their ancestor came from germany and so they have german roots and can even be proud of it.

Hi Giobozz, I'm very embarrassed by how much you praise us Germans. But I would like to bring into play a few of our neighbors that are at least as great: France, Spain, Italy. I've been on vacation there several times and I think I can make this judgment. Our neighbors to the north, Denmark, Norway and Sweden are also great people and they speak perfect English. So come here and see for yourself.

The longer you stay, the more German you'll become.
I grew up in Germany but also lived in the States. When I came back to Germany I realized that this is my home. It's very beautiful here even though the current Green Party government is very bad and they are warmongers. I recommend small cities or villages as a place to live in. The larger cities are often full of crime and drugs like any city in the world. The sidewalks are so clean in the country side that you could eat from them safely.

im not entirely sure but i think that the mayority wouldnt care if you speak some gibberish german instead of your own. As mentioned, even trying shows respect to it and i honor that. You never lived in germany so you dont really know how to speak proper german. But where he was right is.. german isnt an agressive language, sometimes it may sound like aggressive for non native speakers, but it really isnt. Just speak normally. I dont see it as an offensive, i see it as beeing kinda unknowledable for this language. I prefer this over speaking another language actually. I appreciate anyone who trys to speak this language properly or atleast as said trying to do.
