Like the vid mate.. Will be doing this run solo.+dog. I keep it basic, not hard tracks. Legally disabled.. but love travel. Have 07 diesel rodeo, pretty well stock, B,bar, winch, toyo open road AT,s.. Really good nick.. Do you think replacing standard shocks would be a good thing...??
Is the PDR "technically doable" with a regular car, or genuinely quite straightforward? We'd like to do the cape to the tip as a bucket list with our Cub camper-trailer (
The PDR is just a normal road, a few hundred km of dirt with corrugations but with lots of new bitumen. Easy IF you let your tyres down to 25 psi for the corrugated bits and SLOW DOWN. Take an expensive compressor, 10m of pressure hose and nitto fittings including the pressure gun. Deflate all tyres, inflate for bitumen (longer than a few km).
Fuel consumption is a big thing for both diesel and petrol, depending on the trip you may need to carry 300+ litres for the Madigan Line. Water bras, spraying electrical guff under the bonnet for deep water crossings. That’s a start anyway 👍
Thanks very much we really appreciate your information on Cape York
Thanks for a great video mate. I will see you guys up there hopefully soon.
Excellent advice. Thank you!

Hey Trent. Good and informative video mate. But I have to ask what happened to the hard shell roof top tent in the background?
Still have it, will be used this next week in the high country actually. James Baroud, good tent.
