- The Bat Bros swing a couple old-school Easton BBCOR bats from their 2013/14 "Power Brigade" series: the XL1 (2-piece composite) and the XL3 (1-piece alloy). These are some of the only bats from the early BBCOR days that are still being used in college baseball.
We bought the XL3 off of eBay, and the XL1 was sent in by one of our viewers/friends, Mack Palmer (thank you bro!!)

I havent played baseball in like 5 years I remember high end bats being around 150 to 200 now that is concerned a cheap bat its fucking crazy to me
I had the XL1 when I was young and I have to say it barrels almost every ball that you make contact with. Now, if you aren’t a power hitter this bat may not be for you but it’s fun just to have 👍🏼

Younger son swings the XL3 -9. Thing is gas. Has 5 💣s so far.
you guys should start a series where you and the boys go out to a play it against sports or some kind of used sports equipment place and tried to find bbcor and besr gems for the best deal or on sideline swap/ebay and then face off against each other with which bat you end up getting . would be sick af

2014 Easton XL1 was super famous in Korea. Every team once had it! But soon it was prohibited all around the country after it caused one player to go blind. (Hard irregular grounder to the third)
Even more, since 2014, most Korean Sunday baseball leagues have banned carbon-composite bats!
However, still, we don't have any bat regulation, such as BBCOR or BSER, and most amateur players use -5 unregulated bats.

@@nobita.z8133 Nah, there is no open data about the certification. I don’t trust KBN, but Bat Bros. They could test some of Korean bats if they get them.
Both bats are really good and I would swing both. Personally, I like the two piece more tho

Gotta say….. absolutely love this field. It gives me awesome memories of when I used to play on the softball fields below the field and memories of when I used to live in Arizona.
Edit: And the ball just flies in Prescott. It’s almost like coors field atmosphere.
As someone who's played at both coors and yavapai, the ball definitely flies better at yavapai.

Easton has always been my favorite aluminum bat maker. It all started with the old Easton green from the late 70s or early 80s. The ball seemed to still be rising as it was going over the fence!

I went out to a CAL Berkley game and saw four bombs hit by two players (two each by the 1 and 3 hitters) with one of these bats. They've got juice!
The XL1 is a 2013. The 2010(omen) - 2013 XL1s were more end loaded. The 2014-2015 have a longer barrel and feel more balanced. Great under rated bats.
swang both back in my hayday hit most of my homers with em ball absolutely flew off the batt insane barrell size and surprisingly easy to swing.

You should compare the XL1 to the Hype. I haven't gotten the chance to examine a hype because 500 bucks is ridiculous but the tech and balancing is supposedly inspired by the power brigade series, which i have studied, so it might be a good budget Hype.
Also, I'm super happy you've decided to get a machine with very consistent speed, but at 65 mph, you'll have to adjust your statistics because an increase of 20 mph in pitch speed increases exit speed by ~3 mph for the same point of contact
absolutely man we'll revisit everything with the new pitching machine
But they aren't MEASURING the statistics, they're COMPARING them to other bats.

@@taylordennis8624in a head to head, yeah it is equalized and with a machine, more consistent, but they've said before that typically when a bat breaks 100 mph that's a 10 on a power scale which at higher pitch speeds is easier, so something that's getting 101 more wouldn't gotten around 98-99 at other speeds

We got a guy swinging the xl1 with consistent 97-103 exit velo. Easily hits it out of our field (355/400/355. He’s also a freak of nature and just a freak in general.
The XL3 is hotter. He would be about 3MPH higher. That’s 10-15 feet.

I usually swing balance bags but I hit gapers and balls to the fence. What bat should I get
If you feel comfortable enough with a balanced bat, and you don't mind the extra swing weight, the goods is a great bat, but with the durability problems, you might want to get a warstic gunner, victus nox, or a select pwr, as they are all really good for versatile, and they won't break easily. Hope this helps
