I spent the majority of my childhood, pre foster care, in the inner city. When I was in the 9th grade we moved to the suburbs and it was a total culture shock. I had never seen so many white people in my life. It was like a sea of Caucasity 😆
I'm white but it was weird only seeing a few students of other races. Unsettling even. I cannot imagine how much more difficult it would have been had I not been white.
The keeping the tag on her shoes reminds me of how back in the 90s people would keep the tags on their hats.
There must be a feeling of pride in wearing something so new, so unworn, that the tag is still intact.
Thank you for sharing. I really enjoy following your story and please tell Miss A that I'm proud of her for making it through 💚

P.S. tell Miss A I totally get leaving the tag on new shoes as I did that as a teenager with my Converse All Stars. Kids in my school would leave the tags on to essentially show they’re authentic and fresh 😉

So glad to find this channel. My wife and I were foster parents in Dayton. My wife is in the military so we just moved a couple of months ago to Florida and we are starting the process all over. We got 3 kids (5 and under) as our first time experience. Talk about a wake up call. Lol They were good kids but of course they had their challenges and we miss them so much now. We still talk to them, their foster mom and their birth mom. I like seeing how it is with older kids. We've been hesitant to get older kids but we are thinking we may do it here. Thanks for sharing your experiences. If you ever need to talk to someone who knows how foster care is, let me know.

Every county/state has different policies. Foster families are given a monthly stipend to use for the children's care and some portion is supposed to go to the kids for allowance, savings, etc. but it's hard to enforce as a worker. We always encourage putting as much money as they're able into an account for kids but it unfortunately doesn't always happen.

This video was in my recommended, not my cup of tea but I came into it jumping to conclusions thinking you guys were exploiting a child in the foster system for views and was about to be mad. But after watching the video I respect that you guys keep Miss A out of the camera and let her have her privacy. Family videos arent what I normally watch but I appreciate how kind you guys are

Glazed donuts are hands down the best!!! Starting a new school is hard, especially coming from a way different district. We moved in October and my son went from an inner city school to a suburban school and it was a transition.

I really love your videos. Although I am very sorry that Miss A has to be in the position she is in, I hope she realizes how much you really do care about her. And ALL schools are temporary. Take the opportunity to meet people and make friends wherever you find yourself. The Rolling Stones got started when Mick and Keith ran into each other at a bus station and they hadn't seen each other since they were little boys.

Garage sales.... go to the nice neighborhoods, they practically give stuff away and they are brand new or in excellent condition!!! Also, you can check out John's channel if you want to know how to score deals @CincinnatiPicker

I did community service at a good will in a nicer part of town and my job was to organize stuff people brought in. On multiple occasions I would out away brand new clothes with tags still on them for under $2 and a guy once came in and thought I worked there and was telling me how a pair of fancy dress shoes were originally over $200 and were on sale for $6 there he was really excited. And the stuff there tends to be in great condition. You have to hunt around and find good deals. Also I know a store named Khols where my mom picked out about $200 worth of clothes and ended up paying under $10 from getting things on clearance, using her khols cash and coupons. I just used $10 kohl's cash to get a pair of Lauren conrad sandals for free because they were on clearance and kohls cash is basically free money to use in store lol
