I met him around 76,nice guy,he was living at the beach side of Ilaje-Bariga,not far from KSA resident at Ilaje.
I am of KSA family, went for a visit and mama (KSA mum) was greeting Segun Ilori who came to pay mama a visit,my sister and I went with him to his resident. He gave me 20naira when I was leaving.
Easy going and talented, doesn't talk much, and has charisma. Nice seeing him.

I have a strong feeling of nostalgia on watching this interview of my childhood playmate, Segun Oosha. We played together when he was in Mrs F Kuti’s class, in primary school. I wasn’t surprised when I heard he was a member of Suny Ade’s musical band. Back then, in school, he played mouth organ during end of year school entertainment activities. Many his soul rest in peace

This is a man who is at peace with himself and also very contended. When others were running helter skelter trying to tarnish the image and life of their fellow band members, Segun Oosha was investing his money in land and building houses for himself. This is a very honest, positive and unbiased interview. Kudo’s to KSA for having a large heart. Baba Oosha may your sweet soul rest in perfect peace. It looks like this interview was your thank you gift to your benefactor.❤❤

@@olusolaayo-omole2851You are most welcome my dear Broda. It’s good to always be fair, honest, unbiased and factual. Mr Segun Ilori I believe stated it as it was during his own time in the band from his own perspective. KSA remains an enigma, a true leader who is talented and gifted.

    • @Zendaya63
      @Zendaya63 5 місяців тому +9

Spot on, brother!👏 . KSA led a great band. A band that was considered in the 80"s CIRCA as one of the best to come out of Africa. But behind every successful unit are the stack behind the scenes reality not known to the public, Mr. ILORI has just exposed. From the WAILERS to EARTH WIND & FIRE is the axiomatic fact that the band leader would do well by standing firm or will be obliterated because the stakes are high. No wonder PETER TOSH had nothing good to say about BOB MARLEY and even refused to attend his funeral. MAURICE WHITE - founder of EARTH WIND & FIRE had to disband his band for six years in other to have a firm grip of the that was slipping away from him because of constant bickerings of band members of asking for more money.
KSA has been vindicated by this, Mr. Ilori's interview, and he couldn't be bothered that some disgruntled element are using this thread to malign his legacy. Without a shadow of a doubt, KSA has been firm & fair to his band boys and having had a tumultuous beginning with label issues, KSA is better emboldened to face any band issues head on. The Japan mutiny of 1984 underscores how ruthless a band leader has to be in dire straight. KSA, I trust, given is reserved nature, wouldn't want to join issues with any former band members on any social thread. Because doing so would be tantamount to dignifying all these nonsense. I am sure KSA has a whole can of worms to open to the public about the band he led, should he decide to talk. Mr. ILORI, attested to the fact that the spoils of world tours were enough to set up any serious band member for life. Mr. JONAH WILLIAMS, one-time African beats keyboardist, DEMOLA ADEPOJU, TIAMYU, and BOB ALADENIYI all had good things to say about their boss. We leave the rest for posterity. We commend AGBALETU for this expose, and we call on him to balance his interviews by bringing the ORIGINAL AFRICAN GIANT , the real OGO OMO YORUBA himself KSA to come and shake the table.

@@Zendaya63Peter Tosh wasn't a "band boy" to Bob Marley on the contrary himself and bunny wailer actually invited Robert Nesta to join them along to a young lady who sang with them on their earliest releases.
Peter was not invited to Bob's funeral and he was also recovering from an incident of police brutality which left him I coma prior and semi-paralysed.
Bob failed tye wailers for all his good music he sold out from the perspective of the more militant Tosh and more artistically exploratory Bunny Wailer.

If Rasaki Aladokun that was ordinary iragbiji village guy could be accepted by King sunny ade and he became who could be travelling abroad with King sunny ade without contributing to the journey and he still expected to be sharing money the same money with his boss that means he has no conscience at all.
Same goes with Femi owomoyela , I heard it in his interview with Agbaletu that one day he drove his jeep car , u can imagine who could afford to buy a jeep car when he was still with King sunny ade and he has another car as at then and still claiming ksa didn't do well with them , God will surely judge them, those are the rebels in his band then

the other people did not say they contribute money to buy bus or instruments..they said after show they will not pay them and they will tell them they will use the money to buy instrument and buses

You are waffling, sir, who amongst the band members said they were never paid just because they needed to buy instrument and buses? These are lies from the pit of hell we listen to on this thread they in day out. Watch the interview again, sir. KSA has a knack for musical instruments and elegance of his business, and his share of the spoils takes care of musical instruments. We all need to put on our thinking cap here and be objective. For once. If it is KSA'S blood, they want non they will get, people should stop encouraging all these shenanigans on this thread listening to former band boys who have fallen on hard times and would seize the opportunity to start spinning lies just to curry favour and public sympathy. My one cent sir.

They lied. They received their dues after each show. They shared the money on agreed percentages. KSA did not participate in the sharing. He got his share from the boys.

I see overhyping in this man's statement . He's appreciative no doubt and sees his boss as the boss and he doesn't want to mess up the relationship based on the favours he'd received from his boss. KSA, cannot be perfect and he's no saint either, some of the band boys said all of them were given cars ,but this baba said not everybody got a car .
My only concern and observation about the testimonies of these bandboys is some prefers not to spill the beans while some just call spade a spade .

He said he was appreciative of what he achieved while with him. He said he built 3 houses while with him. Another band member said he bought a car even bf they were given cars while with him, and he built an hotel in Ikorodu while him. The other person worked with him for 11 years. What were others doing with their money? Answer that part.

Adieu Segun Ilori! I pray that God will give all he left behind the fortitude to bear his irreparable loss. Segun Oosa was a great and iconic guitarist. He would have been more popular and highly revered than he was during his days with King Sunny Ade and afterward had he not come after Bob Aladeniyi and played alongside Demola Adepoju (on Hawaii Steel Pedal guitar).

There you are! Another insightful revelation far from the OLDWIVES TALES we are accustomed to on this thread. KSA was magnanimous to share the spoils of the uncountable foreign tours with the African beats; yet some disgruntled band boys are still asking for more.

Sad that this came out after the demise of Pa Segun Ilori. I am sure that KSA will be happy that at last, someone spoke of his benevolence. It's painful when your good deeds are being misrepresented by the very beneficiaries.
Sweet is the remembrance of the righteous. May the soul of Pa Segun Ilori rest in peace. May his children benefit from his truthfulness. This is truly a gift not only for KSA but for mankind.
