  • On the first May Bank Holiday of the month, the Bressingham Steam Museum in South Norfolk held their annual Steam Gala. The gala sees all the narrow gauge and the standard gauge lines running along with a host of traction engines and other steam related action happening around the site.
On a pleasant lovely sunny day, I ventured out to mostly see Terrier B662 'Martello', a Southern steam locomotive based in Norfolk. Also another locomotive attracted me to the gala too.
Last week the arrival of BR Standard 9F 92203 'Black Prince' from the North Norfolk Railway occured, this was a joint collaboration with the NNR and Bressingham to house 92203 in their museum whilst funds and workshop space is available for its overhaul back at Weybourne, which is expected to start in two years time. It was housed outside the shed all throughout the gala so you could get your photos before it enters the shed for two years.
Other locomotives are seen in this video doing their rounds of the 3 narrow gauge lines around the site (I did not record the Garden Railway).

I’m still wondering where they’re going to put Black Prince in the museum. I don’t even know if they’d have enough room, since they’re already housing the S56, the T26, Thundersley, William Francis, Granville and the small green thing (unless they’re sending something elsewhere, which I wouldn’t mind since I’d love to see No. 87 at York again one day).

They have moved the Garett (William Francis) and the little green one to a different engine shed and Black Prince will take their spot
