Just tried the true verb front to back with jaycens preset. As far as I can tell only volume is applied. The early reflections are turned all the way down so none are present.
This! Either someone is missing something, or my ears just cant make it out, but hear no difference what so ever with early refl turned all the way down?

This video is in mono so you can’t hear any of the examples as they truly are. How can you hear altivrb produce depth with a mono signal? 🤦♂️
I tried this trueverb move, but jay's 'early reflection' slider is all the way down, so his automation moves arent actually making any sound? atleast on my end, i have to have the early reflection slider up to hear any difference when automating the 'distance' numbers... any else tried?
He's not using it for reverb, he's using it as a front to back panner (instead of left to right). Turn off the reverb, leave early reflection on but all the way down, leave direct signal at max, then use the yellow distance box to automate movement front to back. You should hear the audio move, if not, you've got something going on over there.
@@Hive5ive i understand the concept, but if the early reflections slider is turned down and you're just listening to the 'direct' signal, nothing has actually changed :) see where im going w this? the distance control only affects the early reflections and wet signal not the direct
@@AvivC1 Well I tried what he explained, and it worked for me. Maybe in theory nothing should happen, but it does. Mind you, it's slight, but that's the point, to give the audio just a little bit of movement, nothing drastic.
The slider is -24db, not off. If you press the red button (Direct) and turn it off, you'll hear a very small early reflection sound. This is very subtle trick
It does still work with early reflections switched all the way off. Early reflections are still repetitions of the direct signal which is not what this technique is about. The trick he is using here with the distance marker is toneshaping rather than any actual reverb, in the same way that a sound source would change its sonic characteristics depending on how far away it is from you/the mic. We can instinctively tell whether something is becoming closer or further away (even with the loudness staying the same and without any reflections - ie, in an open field) due to the frequency signature alone.

Ozone Master rebalance (drum setting), neutron transient shaper 25-35% mix and then trackspacer in MID MODE 15-25% just so vocals can fit in that pocket.
