This video showcases a 100% full game playthrough of Sonic R for PC. In this video I showcase all characters, Chaos Emeralds, & S Coins. Using the Sonic R Updater allows players to experience the PC version of Sonic R in a much more definitive way, including things such as higher resolutions, texture and UI fixes, and much more. These mods allow the game to be ran on modern hardware PCs by patching it. The Mod Loader also allows players to download mods and fixes for a definitive experience.

I played this game when I was 6 with my old pentium II, with lowest graphic settings and really low fps. One race could last 10 minutes. It took me months of gameplay to actually discover the emeralds and special characters unlock. I went crazy once robo sonic appeared.
Good old times of gaming and no internet connection. It had its own mystic around.

Fun Fact: If you set the weather to "Snow" (Options - Game - Weather), every single pool of water is frozen, which allows you to make skips.

Nice try, but I am an owner the original Sonic R CD on PC, and even back in 1997-1998, my friends and I were blown away with how much better it looks compared to the Saturn version. It was sharp (instead of grainy), and the framerate was a chef's kiss rock solid 60 FPS. I just popped it back in to make sure I'm not crazy, and it still looks beautiful.
This game doesn't need mods, but if it has some, all the better.

@@NickEnlowe uh, apparently the game did release for the GameCube. Also the PS2. I believe it was on a collection, Sonic Gems Collection I think.

i played tf outta this game as a kid. it was the first 3D game that could run smoothly on my mom's PC and i was blown away. so many hours spent just free roaming the levels to look at the most insignificant details. i still remember how the disc and cover art look. very nostalgic for this one.

after playing so many sonic games on all kind of platforms, this is the one I remember the most. It sure brings back childhood memories with those awesome bgm. Didn't even realize the graphic was this bad, thought it looks pretty damn good back then.

I think this game is the reason why I love house music and electronic music in general. I hope someday Sega will release it on vinyl, this OST deserves it! And I'm not even talking about Wipeout and Extreme-G 🙃

Is it just me or does this actually look fun, I’ve never played the game even when I was with my friend who had it cause of the tails doll stuff and the fact I had a plushie of tails Made it worse and I would cry in the corner as they played as tails doll on tag mode which would horrify me but now that I am 1% less stupid this looks like a fun game to binge out in a session
I wish we could get more Sonic racing games like this. I don't want to deal with vehicles, I want to use the unique powers of these characters.
Finally, challenging A.I.

Tbh I wish sega did a remaster of this. Granted it wasn't that good but the potential is there, the music is great and the new characters were always fun to unlock!
Imagine if they did this but with a modern spin (eg. sega all stars racing or sonic team racing, but without the transformation vehicles or team gimmick).
Characters able to drift, each having their abilities along with a beneficial boost with it (like knuckles glide can charge a boost while gliding to close the gap), new characters, drop dash for every character, new levels and cinematic loop-de-loops/ moments. All with the classic models and music as an extra mode you can unlock after 100% AND you if you 100% that, you can use them as unlockable soundtracks, levels and skins!
All complete with a story mode for each character and if you unlock all the secrets, you get each character's super form. Eggrobo even becoming Heavy King and Metal sonic becoming Neo Metal sonic!

I think this music has been modded in - in my sonic gems version of the game it plays the usual track’s theme in the boss races. Can’t find the specific track rn but I did at one point, I’ll name it if I manage to find it again
