Greetings! I got my Lenovo Chromebook today and am looking into upgrading what I can. Mainly, I'm trying to find out if I can replace the M.2 WiFi card with a WiFi 6 card. Can you? And if so, do you need a specific one, or will any one that fits work? Also, I noticed these are fanless. How do they cool? I didnt see the CPU when I opened it up today and was wanting to repaste it since most laptops come with mediocre paste.
Many Chromebooks have very few upgrades. If your WIFI card is separate then you may be able to upgrade it but there are few upgrade options usually. Many Chromebooks dont produce that much heat as they are much simpler machines than normal computers. They dont need the cooling power of a normal Heatsink Assembly. The CPU is most likely integrated into the Motherboard as is the Hard Drive and RAM so they cannot be upgraded independently of the MB.
Were is the SSD drive located any help would be welcome. I want to replace the SSD with a larger drive so I can run Linux I have the same model as this one don't want open until I know where the SSD is.

I have a HP chromebook 14 g4 and I have been meaning to make it faster and increase its internal memory. Is there anyway to do that or do I have to go for an external ssd or hdd
You would usually have to go with an external option. Most Chromebooks have integrated RAM and eMMC drives. They are part of the motherboard and cannot be easily replaced :(
