- [4K] Voyage to the Crystal Grotto Ride at Shanghai Disneyland. While on the ride, guests will see sculpture gardens featuring characters from Disney movies such as Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Tangled, Mulan, and The Little Mermaid.
If you guys have the chance to visit Shanghai in the future, definitely visit Shanghai Disneyland, it's truly amazing to experience it live. A day ticket to the park is very affordable ranging from $55 to $75 per person depending on the day you go. Off-season will be cheaper at around $55.

I got chills when they went in the tunnel near the end with all the cool light effects and the collection of all the Disney Princesses, but overall it seemed kinda Un-Disney? Like,it felt off. Some of the figures looked kinda weird and Disney is always top of the game with that kind of stuff.

Whoa, that mulan scene was so beautiful. Just realised that mulan is possibly only in this ride in the entirety of Disney parks! 😱😢
Edit: I meant in main rides not including rides like Small World because Small World includes everything, and of course she has a face character but I rarely see rides with her theming like Peter Pan, which is a shame as I love her and think her film could be a great ride concept 💕
Mulan is also featured on Small World in California, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.

Think of it as a fountain show.
It makes sense that they wouldn’t. The animatronics you’re most likely thinking about wouldn’t be able to withstand the outside and the water, and as this is a boat ride, they needed the water features, in my opinion.
They're meant to represent 'statues' in a garden and not the characters themselves if that makes sense, hense why they aren't animatronics. The backstory is that the 'people of fantasyland' discovered a magic grotto - and built a magic garden in dedication to Disney stories - and that's what you're touring!
This boat ride looks really amazing.
Only thing that bothered me were that some characters looked a bit... off, can't put my finger to it. I guess it's the mold or the paintjob and maybe it was intended.
I mean, I've seen better figures in other Disney parks, where the sculpt was more spot on. And knowing Disney otherwise being so protective about the look of their characters, this just felt a bit weird.
I think the issue with Ariel at least is her eyes/eyebrows. They just seem wrong.

I agree. Ariel's eyes are too small and Rapunzel's face looks strange. It's a pity because it kind of pulls you out of the magic, if you know what I mean - kind of like a few bars of heavy metal played in the middle of Mozart.

Eh I get that the unanimated statues can look “cheap” but it’s basically just a more elaborate version of Disneyland’s storybrook ride. Some rides are just meant to be pretty, accessible to everyone, and a place with a short line to rest your feet!

Disney spent lots of money in Shanghai Disney. The designers and engineers from USA did a great job and built the best park with the best rides there. Hope Chinese can cherish what they have now.
Well, the Chinese were already ruining it before the opening day. Like, the people who went in for the testing and preview days. There was already lots of graffiti, trash all over, there was even word of parents letting their child use the bathroom in bushes. Like, not even behind bushes. Next to the bushes where everyone can see them.

I'd imagine the statues had to be made in a way to be super resistant to the conditions of rain wind and heat so considering that they aren't that bad, but yeah it does look cheap and expensive at the same time

Storybookland Canal boats in Disneyland, been there since 1955.
Unless if you count Canal Boats of the World as Storybook Land (I don’t it’d be like saying MB opened in 2004 or the Incredicoaster opened in 2001) Storybook land didn’t open in 1955, it opened in 1956.
It would have to be in Disney World. There is not enough room in Disneyland for a ride of this type without taking out a higher capacity ride. That is something they can't afford to do because it would cause longer lines and wait times. It is already a bad problem even in the off season.
