The substance is called, I believe, Frit - a mix of metal oxides and minerals such as quartz (or silica sand), soda ash, borax, and cobalt oxide - which is in a water suspension to make a slurry and then subsequently sprayed on to the surface just before firing at somewhere between 530-800 degrees C.
The work looked so crude at the beginning, but by the time it got to the finished product I was greatly impressed... especially with all the work being done by hand.

I remember back in the 70's and 80's all alone Van Dyke there hundreds of sm, med & LG buildings filled with people working and making all sorts of products similar to these guys. Now it's all being made in mega factories in China. I'm glad to see that India is still employed.
I have seen so many videos like this one now I ask myself: how is it possible to work in those countries without a minimum of protection for the safety and health of workers? if there are people like these highly qualified, but stupid at the same time, who don't even try to complain about their rights how can you not be ashamed to post such a video? Work is important but … *you must never forget that you work to live, you don't live to work!*
That's a very western/American view. Most people in these places barely survive. They have hardly enough to buy food and keep a small roof over their heads. They do not have the luxury of complaining because then they get fired. And where the complainer that was fired was a new person who keeps their mouth shut will be employeed the second their gone. Some people just don't have other options.
Most factories provide safety equipments to their workers but they don't wear it workers said they can't work properly with the gloves and glasses helmets shoes etc 2ndly most companies give lunch to theirs works 13 salaries per year medical and if someone poor let's say he is alone in his family who is working and he can't fulfill his needs with salary most factories provide those workers monthly groceries.
Having been cleaned and polished over the years, some part of my toilet seat has had some "cement" exposed. I used to think that it was dirt but I'd come to realized it was cement. 😂

The process is nice to see, they work so well and in sync.
However, the work conditions doesn't seem good; no mask or gloves, no manual handling training, no lightning, etc, etc.

Ну после литья чугуна в 10-ти см от босой ноги, меня не удивляют они... как и сварка без защиты глаз и тд.
То что тут это почти безопасно, обычная глина. Эмаль зависит от конкретного состава, но там обычно ничего опасного так же нет, максимум соли металлов, но довольно безопасные... тут беда только с количеством вдыхаемого.
Эмаль - скорее всего на водной основе состав, собственно в эмаль он превращается уже в печке, когда расплавляется.
Если бы была возможность купить его в России, купил бы однозначно 👍
Он не сертифицирован. Сядешь на такой, а он под тобой развалится, и осколки в мягкую попу войдут как нож в масло.

EPI = Equipamento de Proteção Individual (Exemplo: Calçado (Bota com biqueira de aço ou PVC), Óculos de proteção contra poeira (Sílica), Mascara de proteção com filtro, Luvas para as mãos.)
EPC = Equipamento de Proteção Coletiva (Exemplo: Talha para deslocamento das peças brutas (Vi no vídeo os colaboradores efetuando o translado das peças, carregando as mesmas com possibilidade de queda sobre os pés, e possibilidade de lesão em suas colunas devido a movimentos e esforços repetitivos. Uma correção no layout do setor e instalação de uma talha ou linha de transporte, pode vim a eliminar as possíveis lesões futuras em seus colaboradores.)
Sei que não são todas as soluções possíveis. Mas foram as que veio no pensamento com uma analise rápida.

I remember back in the 70's and 80's all alone Van Dyke there hundreds of sm, med & LG buildings filled with people working and making all sorts of products similar to these guys. Now it's all being made in mega factories in China. I'm glad to see that India is still employed.
I have seen so many videos like this one now I ask myself: how is it possible to work in those countries without a minimum of protection for the safety and health of workers? if there are people like these highly qualified, but stupid at the same time, who don't even try to complain about their rights how can you not be ashamed to post such a video? Work is important but …
*you must never forget that you work to live, you don't live to work!*
That's a very western/American view. Most people in these places barely survive. They have hardly enough to buy food and keep a small roof over their heads. They do not have the luxury of complaining because then they get fired. And where the complainer that was fired was a new person who keeps their mouth shut will be employeed the second their gone. Some people just don't have other options.
Most factories provide safety equipments to their workers but they don't wear it workers said they can't work properly with the gloves and glasses helmets shoes etc 2ndly most companies give lunch to theirs works 13 salaries per year medical and if someone poor let's say he is alone in his family who is working and he can't fulfill his needs with salary most factories provide those workers monthly groceries.
And you will get hafty amount once you are retired from the factory after 10 or 15 years whenever you wanna retire
Having been cleaned and polished over the years, some part of my toilet seat has had some "cement" exposed. I used to think that it was dirt but I'd come to realized it was cement. 😂

For once a acceptable product. Very differnt in style to what we have in Germany, but thats a matter of taste, I guess. I would have liked to know, how long it takes to dry the things in the different stages of the production. Like after they pour the liquid clay until the can remove the mold. Must be quite a while, given how massive the item is.
