The BMW i8 is what a car of the future should look like. Even though the BMW i8 has been around for a few years now, the styling is still as forward thinking as any car on the road today. The 2019 BMW i8 is priced between $147,500 for the Coupe seen here and $163,300 for the Roadster convertible model. Upfront there are the signature BMW kidney grills and the classic BMW Roundel. But the rest of the car is designed to move air over the car to either make it more aerodynamically efficient or to add downforce. The roofline is low and sleek. The supercar style swan-wing doors open up and not out.
The BMW i8 is heavily comprised of carbon fiber and aluminum which means it is light and strong. Inside the cabin the styling is forward and futuristic just like the exterior. The front seats are comfortable, and the rest of the interior is very familiar for those who drive a modern BMW.
Driving is a unique experience because the i8 is a plug-in hybrid. Meaning there is an on-board engine to charge the batteries. Power when the electric motors and turbocharged 3-cylinder engine are combined is 369 horsepower. A small engine paired with hybrid electric power can make for a fun machine.

$150 grand for a new one, $60K for one 4 years old. (ouch) When it hits $45K, this will be a great buy (as long as the battery doesn't fail). If they had put the V8 from the M3 with the hybrid system from the i8, it would have been a supercar and not a Toyota Prius killer.
The cheap ones are in shit shape though, you are paying 70-80 for a lower mileage, properly maintained one.

I heard it's not all electric, it's also gas fueled as well, I think that's pretty cool, if it doesn't cost too much to fill the tank up, I'm thinking about purchasing one.

Well my dad has a BMW i8 and i can perfectly sit in the back seats my dad also upgraded it a little bit so it looks a bit better in the back tho
I have an i8 and regularly use the back seats, for adults. bit tight, but for 30 - 60mins not an issue.

N N there is literally no difference at all. Except for the color and the powder coated black wheels. And some 2019’s have a drop top but looks and performance wise it’s the same.

You need to reverse your entry/exit technique. Get in butt first then swing your legs in. Get out left leg first, then push off with your right leg while it’s still in the car with your left leg on the ground. Nothing to it if you’re halfway fit. If you’re not, don’t blame the car.

I am a huge Honda/Acura fan, but I'm always seeing i8's go for 50K-60K used. As opposed to an NSX going for 80K-90K used. I feel the NSX should be cheaper considering it's sales are doing bad
the less a car is being sold, the more valuable it is becuase there are less of them actually in the world. as more of the car is bought, its value decreases

I can get one of these in my neighborhood for $40,000 it’s a 2016 with 60,000 miles but I think I’m gonna pass on it instead, I’m going to stick with getting a Cybertruck; with the Cybertruck I’m going to get a head turner, plus great performance, I can seat six people, haul around stuff, and I’ll have the most futuristic truck probably in the next 10 years; what do you guys think?
Freedom 2020 I found one used for 64k and it’s amazing but you’re right about the cybertruck by the time it comes out I can afford a brand new one
why can't they use the B48b20 and tune the 4 cylinder to produce more than the 225KW power and than add the electric motors this thing would have been close to 500 HP if they did that. is it because they don't want to overshadow 8 series?

back seats are for insurance purposes and in some areas for tax purposes. usually if you buy a car with two seats it's more expensive for insurance and there are different ta categories which you can defer taxes. Where i live, you can reduce your taxes if you have a 4 seat car where as having a 2 seat car is seen as a luxury and won't reduce your taxes as much. correct me if i'm wrong, but this is what i've learned from professionals.
