- The Screen Actors Guild went on strike Friday morning, joining the ongoing writer's strike. This marks the first time in 63 years when both unions have been on strike at the same time. Errol Barnett reports from New York City.

Hopefully this strikes go for years.
Just imagine how smart kids we would have in future.
My thoughts exactly. Burn Hollywood BURN!!!
I noticed that the broadcasters aren't supporting the strike
So they want to gate technology because it makes them obsolete? What about all the jobs that were replaced by automation in the past? What about the jobs lost by self serve registers replacing cashiers? What about factory robotics that replaced humans and have extreme levels of efficiency? There are many other examples. I don't remember these actors panicking when technology was used in those cases. Sounds like they can't handle the reality that they might have to do something else for a living. It is interesting that AI is replacing what are considered creative and artistic jobs first.
Whataboutism
The greatest argument point ever
@@darkmetal2412 History is full of whataboutism. It doesn't mean two things can't be true. That there's evidence of it happening before and that it's whataboutism. Technology has steadily been replacing and displacing jobs. Calling something unfair when it finally happens in a job field they're interested in doesn't make it any less predictable.
Didn't Journalists at one point tell miners that they should learn to code? Maybe the writers will soon have to take their own advice. Oh wait, coding can be done by AI too.
We should ignore pattern recognition because it could be considered whataboutism.
The greatest argument point ever.
Rich people crying. I love it!
Not every actors and writers are rich
Hollywoods needs a rethink. You can't alienate 50% of the audience and expect to be profitable. Political tones and colors are off-putting even for neutral audiences. Then there is the unnecessary provocation and vicious rants against the audience if a movie or a show underperforms.
Im a little concern about the color part... whatcha mean by that lol
@@darkmetal2412 I'm an Indian myself. I meant political tones and political colors. "Colors" was used to pair it with "off-putting". But this is an excellent example of how things are going at the moment. Trivial things are getting blown out of proportion. People leap from trivial matters to toxic assertions.
I am glad that you pointed it out and thankful to you for seeking clarification and not jumping to conclusions. But this is not the case with Hollywood today. There is no discussion.
@@sankalp6872 just joking
This is good news
Is it me but I feel millions really couldn't care less about liberal Hollywood and their woke friends. Lot of international movies out there woke-less😂😂😂😂😂
China and Russia are making much better movies than Hollywood trash 🗑️
I gotta be honest the people who say they don't care about woke Hollywood are usually the ones that care the most about it lol
Just shut down the entire thing.
its about time, shut the whole elitist thing down, who cares? No red carpet, aww.
"Will include favorite people you watch on a regular basis"..... um, no. Not at all. The best TV shows were before all of these progressive writers joined the game and started writing series about men being pregnant. There is so much content to watch right now they could be on strike for 5 years and there would still be shows you could find.
Lies again? Reflection Journal Most Handsome
Bob Iger looking greedy and a liar!! Not a good look.
Anyone think this has more to do with using cluster bombs to aid the rebuild in the ukraine?
I appreciate your comment. This is relatively trivia.
They can go ahead and shut down for good
The drama around the strike is a lot more interesting than what Hollywood puts out these days. In that respect I hope the strike last for a long time. I'll be watching UA-cam thank you.
Clean up the pedophilia & crimes against humans it runs ramped.
Maybe get another job.
Am I supposed to care about this? because I don't.
Wendy's is hiring
To add vote with your wallets! Cancel your subscriptions bc they’re clearly going to these greedy ceos, not the writers and actors that make you love the shows you love.
Shuts down*
What you’re telling me my $120,000 English/Acting degree was a waste of money and it won’t let me live in one of the most expensive cities in the world??
We really don't care.
Yes we do. Big celebrities are a tiny fraction of the actors on strike. Most are small role actors and extras like stuntmen who make no more than 5 figures, but honestly worse because they are gig to gig. Now studios want to replace their likeness with ai models and completely shut them out of a better career. If you hate Hollywood from a political perspective, the studios are the real villains, not "actors".
YOU care enough to make a moronic comment LOL LOL
@@paskowitz No we don't, Hollywood needs to be radically changed...Top to bottom.
@tommanley2924 what are the changes you think hollywood needs?
@@sandmasterflexentertainment without an agenda.
Honestly I’m glad this strike is happening in this industry, good luck UPS, strikes should be more widespread in all jobs bc most everyone is living paycheck to paycheck is not right.
Paycheck to paycheck living is often due to poor budgeting. A lot of people dig their own graves then want handouts. People are paid fairly for the level of work they do in most cases.
If they don’t like that they can start their own company. Nobody else’s responsibility to provide for them. That’s laughable.
You know if I was an actor or writer living paycheck to paycheck in the one of the most expensive cities in the world, I would go back to school and get a real job
Maybe the children will be safe now!!! Down with Pedowood!!!
LMFAOOOOO what?? LOL LOL Look up how many MOFOs in the GOP are pedophiles...Go on, do it. learn something!
what a ridiculous comment, down with all MAGA extremists
Actors should get paid more than actors, just switch it up hollywood
These writers should have been fired please don't bring them back
I feel for the strikers because it is absolutely right to strike for better pay! 👩🚀
Yes they should totally strike to encourage more investment in AI technology that will replace them the next go round. There's enough content out there now, and reality television, that hardly anyone will notice a strike unless they're watching specific shows. The problem is most current shows are terrible and not many people follow them. People lean on what they know for comfort viewing, which means older television/movies. There's a stockpile of that stuff already licensed out to big streaming media companies.
The reporter of this opinion piece said it all when he said there is a strike in the entertainment industry. ENTERTAINMENT. If my local theme park shuts down due to a strike, I go hiking, or bike riding, or watch reruns, or talk to people. I can live without entertainment. And about when Fran Drescher says they are giving all their money to their CEOs? Welcome to Capitalism- we all have been living with this for our entire lives. You sound WAY too privileged. Live with less, just like the rest of us. Adjust.
Lmao higher pay? Really?
Only the writers deserve that, actors getting involved is only gonna make it look worse
Actors who make millions for brainless movies should take a pay cut instead of wanting more money
It happens in corporate America all the time and there is no justice for employees at all!
It won't be this way for long.
Strikes never work. You need to come up with a different plan. Besides, either side is no better than the other.
I mean, the actors and writers want more money then the industries want more money. It won't lead to anywhere.
wenn das so ist mit der ai, wie wurde max headroom aus den späten 80ern animiert?
who can remember max headroom from the late 80s and how was it realized because it was the era of the schneider pc and amstrad basic? a powerful pc was yet expensive during that time
This is the effect of greed and nothing else. Good vs evil here we go !
The studios need to pay dearly with these strikes!
Actors add nothing to the world
It is time, to support these people. Read my reply!!!!
Ok pedophile
Damn right.
They've made millions upon millions of dollars off of us. Let them support themselves.
we don't need to do anything. Hollywood needs to burn
@@The_Hagseed No the movie companies have, this is for the movies companies, to give the actors more compensation, for their work. That is my understanding of it. The movies companies have made a lot of money, they shouldn't be asking for more from anyone else!!!!!
