So many beautiful Cadillacs, but the L'Etoile was the star of the show.

I love the first Seville...to look at. After seeing pictures of it in Newsweek, I rushed out to the local Cadillac dealer to see it. I'm 6' 2" tall, and I could barely get into and out of the thing! Years later, I saw a picture of Betty White driving hers, and realized that was precisely the car's target market--rich old ladies.
Cadillac developed the Seville to entice younger buyers, import and people who wanted an easier Cadillac to park ( Detroit speak for women ). Two out of three ain't bad, as sales show! I did not realize, and quite surprised, that a person over 6 foot is not comfortable ( Pam speak for can't fit ) in a Cadillac of the '70's. Of all, American marques, why did they ignore 14% of the male population ( thank you Google! ).
@@carshowreporter It wasn't head clearance that was the problem, it was simply a matter of trying to fit too much car in too small a space. The seats were too large and thickly padded, which cut into legroom. Shoulder room was also tight. The overall feel was claustrophobic.
Well, it was based on the X platform, the same as the Nova.
