I have three Tops knives in my collection now, and I have to say, while they are beefy and nicely finished, the handles are all kind of blocky, like you described this one. And on one, the extended tang was such a nuisance in certain grips, I just ground it down and rounded it off. It does feel way better now, fortunately for me. Thumbs up brother Tac.

How long did it take to get a replacement? Did they cover shipping both ways? I think the tip test is a quick & dirty way to verify good heat treat...to soft it bends, too hard it snaps. I would have liked to have seen at least the aggression of the 1st tip test to re-gain confidence that at least your example had better heat treat than your 1st one. Can you put a link to this video in the description of the 1st? Seem like I had to dig through ~5 or 6 pages of comments to find the Tops request that you send it in.
if the hot spots are bothering you and you have large hands, i'd recommend wrapping the handle with some paracord. did that with mine and reduces hot spots to zero

What about the topps punisher blade? We all juggle knives did a review but it wasn't a review like your tests which is more practical. Not bashing his channel or anything his channel is awesome, but I feel he didn't test it fully.
i have 2 tops knives tbt t-1 and the tbt mini and even the mini has a blocky handle but i love them both other than the edges and the sheaths , i had a sheath made for the mini frim C2G FAB freaking awesome , you would think with the cost of a tops the sheaths would be better
Bent mine on its first baton. Sent it back and Tops clamped it in a vise and sorta straightened it...still bent....I haven't had much luck with Tops in general and the Tahoma in particular. YMMV........

Trace Renaldi says his knife is an “American Machete” made for the forest environment. I find it does pretty well for just about anything. I’ve even cleaned fish with it.

Well, I just had a beauty made by modifying me B H Attitude, Then I got a e-mail on a Mad Hatter, Actually it's a Machere which is fine in the Summer, but what about in cold weather. So I started to thin, Oh, Oh, yeah, I looked at some knives in different grinds and I like what I have in one of my Fav. Mora 2000, I like that dual Grind, This way I'm hoping I could stretch the useful time by making a large knife out of a Machete, and yet if it walks like a duck and sounds like a duck, It will always be a duck, My Mad Hatter will always be a Machere, But a dual purpose, What do you think. Oh, I'm matching the handle with my Attitude. Yeah, That Top's Armageddon looks boss, But again, I'm looking for Lite.

tops knives are solid. their only weakness is those cheap nylon sheaths. I've tried to break my tops knives and have failed miserably.
