WOW! I used to work mid-night shifts and watched several stations sign off, including WPSX. The Waring video was added in the mid 80s. The SSB 4th verse as stated elsewhere is rare, almost unheard of. There were some days WPSX wouldn't sign on until the afternoon, when they weren't running AEBC school programming. IIRC for the sign on, the video was the same, sounded like the same group, but they sang the first verse. THANK YOU!! for posting this. Oh, and Fred Waring is the name sake of, but not the inventor of the Waring Blender.
Loved following this guy . I see here he's lost weight he used to do it in the 70s to the mid 80s. He made it so fun and fascinating . See where was what at what time. In the night sky.
Thank you!!! I've been waiting forever for a WPSX sign off video to be uploaded on UA-cam. I used to live halfway up Peters Mountain (north side of the mountain) in Halifax, PA down near Harrisburg and was able to pull in channel 3 with rabbit ears although it was a snowy reception. And I would stay up late as a kid on Saturday night to watch Dr Who (movie version) and then the sign off. Never saw it with a clear picture because of the distance.
Upon further discovery, this sign-off appears on several other tapes (possibly hundreds) from this collection. I will have to see if there are any other variations, but so far it's just the program title slide.

The TV announcer is Asa Berlin. He was also a retired professor at Penn State. He passed away in 2003 at the age of 80.
