Can we talk about how beautiful this autoloader is?
gun loader is nice but storage access is danger and need a lots of muscle
Some years ago I worked for KMW in Kassel (Germany) in a project where we documented all aspects of the PzH2000. I was able to meet the people who made the hard and software for everything in the PzH except driving. I appreciate every hour they have worked with me.
@@user-lh1uu7cs9u Well you can transport it quite easy by train or truck, but you can not make it fit into a plane. It uses NATO standard ammo so it should be no problem to supply enough ordonance. BUT: it need a Command and Control Center to get its Fire Commands or you need to know how to enter da Fire Command localy. The Software is German and most Names and Commands are German. So i see no problem in mooving and supporting, but a problem in using this thing
@@markusfischhaber8178 Well I'm startled that the software is not using standard localization to the well known languages (NATO languages) or that it can't be switched somewhere in setup. Such things (gettext strings config files) are well known even for C/C++ which I would expect the software is written in. Netheerland soldiers are using German UI ? 😀
Relying on Command center is IMO illusive in real war conflicts where the connection may fail from various reasons (heavy bombardment of infrastructure or intensive jamming). The crew should be able to work independently... As I know, In Ukraine the army units are decentralized to a certain level which is an advantage to the Russian army which works on direct orders (therefore you can paralyze it by killing the top commanders etc.).
@@vencdee well, this is where you'll need training. The Indonesian submariner even partly use german order in their U-209, because the German trained them. well used to anyway.
This video made my day. It is exactly what I imagined but it gave me more, much more. The engineering behind these machines are on another level.
absolutely mind-boggling....so many different branches of engineering and science all combined into a powerful machine and a weapon
The rate of fire is seriously impressive
They can make them all hit the target at the same time. Pretty impressive
That rate of fire is honestly kind of terrifying
bro this is brokenly overpowered, even just the rammer that pushes the rounds into the breech is faster than anything I’ve ever seen
I love watching this system operate, seems a better thought out system than the Paladin
It also comes with GPS, all kinds of automated calculations and communications. You need the target position and the computer determines the direction, elevation, type of shell, amount of powder... when the first shell hits the ground the system detects how much it is off and autocorrects within seconds for the next shot. Bulls eye.
Compared to this, Paladín reloads like Joe Biden himself is loading the gun 😂
I know air superiority is their ultimate doctrine, but I am a bit surprised the DOD took until very recently to come up with an actual replacement for the M107 (which is funny enough a heavily modified M107 with a new gun yet for some reason still no autoloader)
Ferdinand: I'm so proud of u son
It looks a bit more like the Conqueror gun carriage if you know what it is :)
The 235 dislikes are from people who didn't have an auto loader.
Or from people who want to deploy that system and find, that we do not have planes big enough..
@Advocatus Diaboli Nether in their A400 M nor in their C-160.. So Katar is the country how owns PzH2000 and C17 to move them around in their own planes.
I clicked dislike and I don't have, or want, or need, an auto loader. Read my other comment on this video to find out what I think of this shit. Or not, I don't care. I care about me, I care about you, I care about what we as a species universally want ... we want to be happy, feel loved and heard. We like to feel free. We do not want to be killed from a distance by whomever pays most.
@the taker Oh well, I don't know about destiny ... I won't play along, that I know.
This must be the best autoloader sistem. Pure perfection.
If you liked the video, don't forget to drop a like! It really means a lot for the channel. Thanks!
I mean sure the auto loader is nice, but have you seen the special ejection seats in the T72 b3?
At this point I keep seeing this type of jokes on the internet and i don't find it funny anymore.... Big sad for me :((
Autoloader in t72 isnt that low in the vehicle, no? Also Artillery is much less likely to be shot at soo
Do you mean Soviet-made tanks that are both used by the Ukraine and Russia right now?
I forgot how much fun driving a tracked vehicle is,not to mention live 🔥 fire
I had the opportunity to drive the British AS90 across Salisbury Plain. These big SPGs really are amazing vehicles.
Seven of these self-propelled howitzers are on their way to Ukraine. 18 Ukrainian teams are currently being trained in Germany. With a maximum of 10 rounds per minute you can imagine what is going on at the end of a proketil's trajectory. Before the survivors on the Russian side know where the rain of steel came from, the howitzers have already moved on again. I hope our government releases many more of these highly useful PzH 2000s. Ukraine should get everything it needs to kick ass the Russian orcs!

No offense, sorry. Besides, i got your joke ;)
It is amazing to see the autoloading system in action. I was a redleg in 1994 and attended the fire support conference at Ft. Sill, OK. It was there I saw the presentation on the Crusader project. It would have become America's first automated howitzer. Millons over budget and it was cancelled.
@@grouchosaysprobably it could load the little baby primers automatically 💀💀👀👀☕️☕️☕️
Saw all of that IRL, standed right next to it when shooting at close range (4km away), and we did some other funny things together that we agreed to keep for ourselves or some would get anger from above haha ^^
I did that during Exercise Feldberg in October 2019 with the 295. ArtBat, I m from the 1er RI. It was fun :)
I have always been curious as to where is the ammunition stored? And can the turret turn like in tanks?
If hearing that BFG firing off in person doesn't wake you up, I don't know what will.
this is some complicated automated tank shit.
no shit this was my fav tank in one of my childhood war games its so cool inside
6 seconds of reloading. So satisfying!
Auto loader system is the bomb. Super fast volley of rounds down range.

awesome video
The firing sound is like muffled/silenced. I expect like a loud boom. How did they do it? Also no muzzle flash, which is amazing.
Clearly the microphone is muffled to a degree. You can hear artillery at least in 20km distance. All of the guys wear ear protection.
This rate of fire, OMG...
Danke für die tollen Aufnahmen!!!!
Impressive howitzer, maybe No.1 in the world. But too expensive for many less rich countries. Korean K-9 howitzer is No.2, but way affordable and as effective for most tasks. It has autoloader too.
Some people will always buy the cheaper option, even if they fight for their lives in a war, damn idiots! 😂
When you compare this to M109 paladin you get a pretty good idea about why armored vehicles desing is an interesting topic to research
Imagine having only ten of those in a siege. Total annihilation.
PzH2000. Welcome to Ukraine. Lets defend Europe together 😀
I only hear the slide whistle sound when the rack for the shell comes out
put a razorblade between the shell and the fuze: they will hear the shell incoming🤪
The auto loader really just yeets the shell into the breech
I just watched several PZH2000 videos and it is very strange, how easy handle the crew the almost 50kg projectiles. Like a 20kg one only. 46-49kg, half meter long, 155mm diameter cylinder is not an easy handling thing what you could drop into the conveyor with straight back. But there is no suffering or struggling at all... strange.
I used to serve on an M109, also a 155 mm gun, back when NL still called up conscripts. I don't know if the situation with the PZH2000 is comparable, but this is what I remember. 1) Usually the 'weaker' men were called up to be arty, i.e. fat guys, thin guys, short guys and so on. 2) After a few weeks, a lot of the guys in the crews in my battery had doctors' notes saying they weren't allowed to lift anything heave (i.e. shells). We made do with whomever did not have or did not fake a bad back. 3) Although the shells were heavy (45kg approximately), they were compact and relatively grippy, which made them easy to handle. Also, 4) rumour had it that the Germans used strong men as loaders. The reason was that they hydraulic loading system was fairly slow, whereas with manual loading you could get firing rates of, I think, 6 shots a minute.
autoload is fine
manual load can separate the warhead from the propellant
These Dutch guys always clean up their plates and go to bed early. That's why they can effortlessly move these heavy shells.
Надо признать,немцы всегда славились добротным оружием! 5 баллов из 5!!!
That`s some very nice Footage !
That is so freaking cool.
Thanks.. I would also like to see who gets the location info, etc.
It’s semi automatic, not a full one. The full one has Msta S and Coallicia SV, i Hope I wrote it right , and SV has unmanned turret
Nope, the MSTA-S has a semi-automatic loader. You still have to place each individual shell and case to the loader and activate the rammer each time to load, a fully automatic loader would take the shells and cases from the storage automatically. The Koalitsiya-SV does that, however, and ,as you said, it also has the whole loading mechanism and ammo storage separate from the crew.
The first 3 go out in no time, impressive.
Yes please.
More of them in Ukraine.
PtH 2000 Howitzer. Also know as Ferdinand P. It looks sooooo similar *-*
@@user-bori2350 Yeah but Germany is a rich country with high-tech weaponry so we can afford that.
Ok, 155 mm. But why are the propellant bags so small. Are they shooting short.
Good video.
Depending on ammunition type and weather conditions this thing can shoot between 25-60 km
You can aim with having only 1 type of bag. just adjust elevation.
For practicing these loads are cheaper and good enough.
I've seen other videos where they clean the breach with a brush prior to loading the next round (presumably to remove any still burning propellant?), why is that not needed with this system?
I'm sure it depends on the breach of the gun, or something, like how Flak 88 was used, it kept going, then afterwards cleaned, like every other gun, but flak is all I know with a short reload, and same with artillery, some needed to be cleaned, and others don't like the pzh2k
To my knowledge there is compressed Air beiing Put through the Barrel ventilating it.
@Gary Edwards
This is something that has to be done on the M109 A6/7 Paladin, but not on the PzH 2000. The PzH 2000 is far superior to the M109A7. It is joke that the US Army is still using such a primitive artillery system. Compare this video of M109 A7: ua-cam.com/video/MxmApO7kgqk/v-deo.html
To this video of the PzH 2000: ua-cam.com/video/wlKlW1-7c5A/v-deo.html
@@markschoning5581 why need a better one when you don't need a better one? The usa so called 1000 mile cannon is coming out sooo yea if it's a success the 2000 and the palindin would be irrelevant
If you have a well trained crew it is possible to fire 5 grenades that hit the target at the same time. All you have to do is change the angle of fire and the number of propellant charges after each shot.
I thought they had to use those giant cannon silencers in Germany. 😉
Its a german artillery in Dutch hands. Feel like whole Europe use German tanks and artillery.
That is one impressive monster!

Exponentially better mission kill rate than the Germans old flack 88. Men and their magnificent howitzer. The Porsche of field infantry weapons iconic for their cyclical reload rate and distant delivered punch.
It's great fun if you're behind one, but kiss your ass goodbye if you're on the receiving end.
Flak is for aircraft. It´s almost impossible to shoot down a plane with a howitzer.
@@adamabele785, Thank you for that corrected technical info. I just Recklessly assumed 88 had been utilized for Target types other than Ariel flack. So Howitzers Could be re-engineered to do same or similar. It's obvious I need to expand my comprehension of Howitzer other than cocktail shot containing Sambuca & Rum.

Heat spikes in certain areas and deformation as a result will prevent you from doing so.
@@pickyaudiophile the PZH 2000 was never engineered for all day fire missions. They would need to watercool the entire gun for that to be possible. Which means it technically wouldn't be impossible...

It baffles me on how in the 1900's the machine gun, plane, and tank were new and simple napoleanic tactics applied, now there is sooo much engineering that goes into warfare that i think it would get quite expensive
German engineering
So can they still manually load shells if they were hit and the auto loading stopped working?
yes they can, the operators of the vehicle are fully trained how to handle situations when the autoloading system fails.
It is also possible to aim manually. That is why the system needs more training than older systems.
intelligant autoloader system. I like from Turkey
гарно
Wow, that's quick, and convenient.
With a normal amount of powder it would be a bit slower.
There is no "normal" amount of powder. The amount depends on angle and distance.
the amount of powder doesnt really impact firerate, the pzh2000 is designed to handle three types of powder pieces ... the small bags, larger powdertubes and modular segments which can be combined like lego into a single piece for complex fire missions. These modular charges would be put together before the firemission.
So under normal circumstances and given these options are available the loader would just load one piece. I doubt the slightly different size/weight would slow down the loader and his task is pretty much the exact same no matter what charge is used.
I think the reload in WOT for this arty is 29 seconds
@@bluestaraquamarine9214 Nah he means the artillery ability that tanks get
What are the rods on the side of the howitzer, does anyone know? For example, at 5:00.
These things are on virtually all field artillery, from towed to self-propelled.
I think they are used to mark the working area around the howitzer but dont quote me on that
those poles are for camonets, you can put a "chute" on top of it and hang camonets around the vehicle
The way how it manages its barrel steady right after firing is so impressive. It might be a key part of its high firing rate. A peace of art.
In Germany we don't call it 'a piece of art', we call it "Taktzeitoptimierung" and I think that is beautiful.
Not a piece of art... german engineering :D but, well i think it is simular ;p
