  • Not all scooters are created equal. That being said this new "vintage" scooter from Royal Alloy is fantastic example of a quality 150cc

    I bought a GT150 recently and I can honestly say that I really love it. Gets really good mileage and is able to do about 60. The thing I really dont like about it is the lack of storage space besides the glove box. There really should be more storage space like behind the seat. Other than that, it is a decent little bike

    Great review-- I bought one, 2021 and I'm 5'9" so I purchased the solo red seat which dropped it down slightly however I still have to move forward and lean it when stopped. Overall I'm very pleased with it!

    I think scooter might finally take off in the US with gas prices going up and other things!!! Keep up the extremely detailed and entertaining videos!!!! You are the best out there! ❤️

      Thanks Kassandra! We have already begun seeing an uptick in scooter sales over the last year or two.
      With the addition of models like RA 300 coming we think the general public will begin coming around more and more

    Very nice looking scooter. I’m really surprised it doesn’t have any under seat storage. You always do a great informative video and I like the new chest and helmet mounted cameras.

    • @SiegfriedsMotorwerx

      I can't argue with the split camera angles, especially on scooters. WIth my height and the "layout" of a scooter it was tough getting a good angle front the helmet mount only
      The storage is indeed disappointing, BUT the looks make up for it in my book haha.

    I understand that the 300 will be available in the US soon. Liquid cooled, ABS brakes and good for over 80mph, it'll blow you away!

      The 300’s should start hitting the dealership floors in the next few months

      @@SiegfriedsMotorwerx I own one here in the UK where they are known as GP300. Had it a year and I'm really pleased with it. You still get owners of vintage Lambrettas spending a fortune trying to get more speed etc out of them and they're still as unreliable as ever!

    • @knightsljx
      @knightsljx 2 роки тому

      Owner of a GP300 from South Asia here. Very happy with the performance, it hits 55-60mph very comfortably. Haven't tried any top speed run, but I believe it can hit 80

    That is NOT a NEW vintage scooter. The last one of those, at least in the U.S., was the 2009 Genuine Stella. Carbureted, 2 stroke, manual shift, manual clutch. The Stella was built by LML in India, as then LML Star, and may have been sold in other countries as a 2 stroke manual shift scooter after 2009. I believe Vespa sold the PX150, which is a 2 stroke manual shift scooter, in some countries until just a few years ago. Scooters with EFI four stroke engines and CVT belt drive systems are anything but vintage, no matter what they look like. The Royal Alloy is designed to look like a vintage Lambretta, but it's looks are the only vintage thing about it.
    I own a 2009 Genuine Stella, built by LML, and imported by Genuine Scooter Company. It is a real vintage scooter in every way. It was built with real Vespa tooling. LML used to build real Vespas for Piaggio for non U.S. markets.

    I I think with almost 11 HP I would not see a problem as for small light scooter with one average driver. I was considering to buy RA some two years ago. Anyway it is not available, not even much heard about in Poland.

  • @Barrybushski-ge3kf
    @Barrybushski-ge3kf Рік тому

    Should mention these units come from China not uk also kind of odd that they are still using a carburetor in 2023……I might be interested in the 300 if fuel price keeps climbing.

    Nice Review. RA is definitely a cool scooter - looks like a lot of fun to ride, but with the taller seat height and lack of storage, it would not be a "daily rider" for me. Also, based on your review comments, it seems like my Buddy 125 might actually have an edge when it comes to performance - let me know if I am wrong about that.

    • @SiegfriedsMotorwerx
      @SiegfriedsMotorwerx  2 роки тому +1

      The Buddy 125 would definitely be a quicker scooter but the absolute top speed would go to the Royal.

    I go back and forth on the metal body. I love the look, but dents and such make me think plastic and the ease of swapping those out are the way to go. Side note, I greatly prefer the Stats being listed Power Point style vs the post it read while scootin' Just my thoughts! Dank video.

    • @SiegfriedsMotorwerx
      @SiegfriedsMotorwerx  2 роки тому +1

      I dunno...a metal body scooter does have its cons when it comes to dents/scratches. The RA does have replacement panels available and they could be switched out if damaged.
      I definitely like the powerpoint style spec delivery pre ride. A lot less heat in the comment sections that way to haha

    10 minutes of looking at the road through a GO-PRO does nothing to inform us of how we would fit on the scooter ourselves. Try putting the GO-PRO on a tripod and drive around the parking lot and do some figure 8's. Show us how maneuverable the scooter is and put your feet down when stopped. THAT will tell us more whether a scooter is right for US. We want to know if we'll be all cramped up with the handlebar hitting our knees or if our arms will be too short to reach the handlebar if we stretch out our legs.

    What is a Jiffy stand, could it be a centre stand?

    • @SiegfriedsMotorwerx

      Jiffy stands are what Harley Davidson calls the side stand, I’ve always loved the terminology and now every side stand is known as a jiffy

    This scooter rocks, handles better than a Stella and is faster both off the line and at top speed. Heard the 300’s have a Vespa motor.
    Say goodbye to Vespa

    It doesn't do any good to show us a tour of your roads and countryside. What we need to see is someone riding the scooter so we can see how a normal size person would fit on it.

    😢They're OK for now, but they are on the market for people of a certain age, who will probably ride them for 5- 10 years max, young people won't want them..... So limited shelf life in my opinion
