  • This webinar clip features Dr. Paula R, a University of Queensland Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours) graduate, who is now practicing as a dentist in Alberta.
When we asked her what life is like as a dental student, Dr. Paula said that while in dental school, there isn’t really a balance! You’re there as a student and you need to put in the time and work.
But, everyone needs a break, right? So, she took little trips on her semester breaks, and worked part-time as well.
During the semester she would study and work a lot (to keep up with the financial side) but be sure to go for a walk or go to the beach for quick breaks to release stress.
She says you should be mentally prepared to take care of yourself, make sure you eat well, go to the gym, etc. to help you sustain life as a dental student.
The National Dental Examining Board of Canada (NDEB) recognizes the reciprocal agreement between the Australian Dental Council and the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada, which allows graduates of accredited dental schools of either body to practice dentistry in Australia or Canada.
