  • These are our easy, three ingredient meringues. They're totally vegan and super easy to make!
    Meringues can be a tricky thing to make vegan as we can't use egg whites. HOWEVER the magic of chickpea water is the perfect ingredient to make these light, fluffy meringues! Simply whisk these in a stand mixer and you'll get this amazing texture.

    To whoever needs it: yesterday I made another recipe and it said you can use lime juice instead of cream of tartar 'cause it's citric and it worked perfectly for me!

      Yes it will .it just needs some acid..can be either of these

    I have made aquafaba meringues before and they are great. No one believed they were vegan they taste exactly the same!

      Same here!! I just made it yesterday for the first time and I myself was shocked when I tried it. But my husband took a long time to understand it wasn't egg whites, he found it super cool and it made me really happy because he's really not into vegan food

      @@debbiegreen6706 some pastry chefs had a shit ton of chickpeas they didn't want to waste so they started experimenting.

      Comes from unrinsed bean water that is high in Saponin, which in Latin means "Soap". Research medical side effects

      THANK YOUUU, =/ they dont really give amounts in the vid aside from "1 tsp cream of tartar"....we can assume they used the whole of a can's worth of aquafaba buuuut....they dont tell us how big a can =/

    Hello the whipping goes very well with very thick peaks like yours, but in the oven everything sinks evenly. I do not open the oven in the meantime,..whats going wrong? Which stand of the oven Hot Air?

    How does this solution work in an atmosphere of 85% humidity or higher? Also is this using Garbanzos that have been properly rinsed and drained? What is the Saponin content? Can you discuss how these would work for people with gut or IBS problems? Would you recommend this approach for pregnant women?

    For future reference, there has never been led in pencils only graphite and that is completely harmless.

    Any advice for flavouring the meringue? As often when using citrus flavours the meringue will collapse and become soupy.

    I wouldn't worry that much about the pencil "lead"....it's not lead but graphite...which is carbon.

    Can u help me out with aquafaba . I tried making meringue with it all went well except they stated to brown while baking when 1/4 th part of baking time still was left I m wondering why so ? Also when I eat them they were crunchy but with in 15 min they became tacky kindly help what can I do everything went well with recipe but then why these issues cant figureout I live in Mumbai a bit humid climate here...how can I have white colour preserved till end and not being tacky sticky too..best way to store them also make a video on do's and don'ts plz..thank u

      Do not take directly out of the oven - let them sit inside until complete cool (I usually leave them in for hours while I clean) or they will get sticky and gross .

    My small ones are always hollow, are yours the same? My son thinks their too lemony tasted, is there anything to counteract this?

      we don't find that ours are hollow... are you cooking them long enough and do you whisk the mixture well enough? 😊

      That's because they tricked people the ones they made are not the ones that came out of the oven,they made normal meringue with eggs off camera. If you watch slowly you can see them switch the pans before and after the oven.if you look closely at the meringues they are different not the ones they made.

    It's interesting to see that you can make meringues in this way but as a non-vegan I have to say that a meringue is not a meringue unless sandwiched between whipped double cream. Maybe there's a vegan-cream substitute out there?

      definitely! you can just whizz coconut cream up in a stand mixer and it goes a really nice whipped cream consistency! x

    Notice they had some in the oven already made but you didn't see that part. They just showed you how to make them but didnt put them in the oven.

      happened to me as well. I was told to reduce the aquafaba by half before mixing and haven't tried it yet but it makes sense that would help

    I just did, but it's desgusting. Been vegan for a year now and live trying new recipes but this combination is not good. Acidic after taste and bitter at first, there's no way it could be a substitute for the egg ones.

    No clear instructions… rushed and no details like how it’s important to get unsalted chickpea juice or how much chickpea juice. 👎🏻
