Taxing the opponent with Masquerade was hilarious in Fusion Festival. It still is even on the regular ladder.

My favorite is when they'd try to blindly play through it, then couldn't activate anything. My personal favorite was the phantom knights player I went against who, if they'd paid attention, they could've just swung over the dragon and continued their stuff in mp2, but instead they continued their combo, ending up with only verte, activating verte, and realizing they no longer had enough lp to actually use its primary effect xD.

I feel like if you could combine Masquerade with either the STUN cards or the floodgates, you could go all in and make a full on prison deck.

Definitely a great video. I've been playing Invoked Despia and it's been going great, one time I super poly'd away my opponent's dramaturge, quaeritis and dpe for proscenium.
Also I feel like the Despia player in second match possibly threw the game because they didn't go to battle after making the starving venom to get rid of the third masquerade dragon. They took so much damage trying to go for game when they didn't have it.
I throw in a chain energy or two, to supplement my irs dragons taxing ability
This would be great in a combo deck heavy format. We got swordsoul, halqi/auroradon combo decks, and some of the older combo decks still running around. however, we still got a lot of control decks and going second decks (exosister, eldlich and zombie world variants, luna kaijuu, etc.) so I find that this deck is only a little viable.

This is what happens when you don't pay for taxes even in yugioh you can't escape. Lol Really interesting and fun deck. I really learned alot with deck building. Just got double masquerades the other day so it might be a wake up call. XD
I've been using 2 masquerade and 1 DPE , and I really love it when a sword soul player do their combo and left with only 800 or 200 lifepoints.

he got home from late work, his wife is about to leave him, no friend, short on money. he decided to fresh his mind on YuGiOh favorite game, met Dkayed and gett taxed in game. he doesn't want to live anymore

Many ways exist you can use double polly and cycle some cards then hit branded in red
Field spell polly and branded
Triple polly
Just try and extend combo you can use dramaturge twice and then if use ad libitum in a fusion you’d get dramaturge again you can use tragedy and that’ll grab a despia monster and so on
I win 1 match cuz my opponent dont read my card, he has 800 lp and a summon Masquerade from de Gy and he was afraid of activating cards lol, Masquerade lose that effect when summoned from de Gy and that give me time to finish him in the next turn 😅

I was able to break through a board of 2 masquerades and a DPE , pretty easily with Swordsoul
You could also do this with the odd eyes ritual monster it's just 500 instead of 600
And the red eyes xyz

As a Despia myself it feel great having to pretty much do nothing but summon Masquerade's and have your opponent kill themselves trying to play.
Chain energy is really evil in this deck

Take note people, masquerade effect CANNOT LETHAL YOUR OPPENENT. If your opponent LP less than 600, he just only pay until he has 100LP. After that he can need not to pay LP to activate any effect.
I once lose to this rule when my opponent has only 200LP when summon auroradon but proceed to summon baronne and shooting majestic and come back win me
they cannot activate any effects if their lp is below 600 if a fusion summoned masq is on field so you are clearly a liar

That is not how it works mate, if you lost to what you described you got cheated in TCG or you're saying this happened to you on Master Duel in which case you're lying.
If you have exactly 600 LP, activating an effect will kill you.
If you have less than 600 LP, you can't activate any effects unless you kill the Masquerade by battle first.

They would have to reprogram the entire game with stuff like Priority and crazy Erratas and Rulings from 17 years ago, just to get a format that the Majority of the playerbase (Goat didnt exist in the OCG) has never even heard about. Won't happen.

yoooo i been waiting for this with the combos i remember seeing this stream but i was out and about so i couldnt fully focus glad he uploaded it and was like oh yeah im running that shit looks fun as hell bleed them dry plus its a good alternative to a burn deck for those pesky deal 15K damage daily missions
It’s not really a combo deck. You just need to fusion summon, the deck is full of cards that adds fusion spells/monsters you just gotta know how to use them.
That Despia player was on that monke grindset
Masquerade is one of my favorite monsters in MD right now. Seeing your opponent tax themselves to death is the funniest thing ever

Sadly, CP N/R is equivalent of Duel Links' Gold. If only those lower CP can be converted into higher CP. (1000 CP N for 10 CP UR for example)
Summon Timelord when you meet Masquerade and when your LP below 500. Your Timelord will stay on the field, but your Timelord is still indestructible.

I only have 1 Queritis and 1 Masquerade but none of the other Fallen fusion monsters but this deck does look pretty fun
I'd say you need at least a second masq and the rest are only important if you play albaz, which is not needed until we get branded fusion.
@@jimtsap04 I'm also missing Starving Venom and Darklord as well as a few others, might've been too conservative with my gems but I am waiting for that support before I really get into the Despia deck.
I opened tons of the Sword Soul packs but didn't open the Despia/Fusion ones when they were in the store. Oh well, hopefully they reprint this stuff later when they release the extra support later.
@@colossaldonut5190 you don't need starving venom if you don't have super poly, also the darklord version will be obsolete when the new support comes out so I would hold out on that, the most useful engine for despia both at the moment as well as in the future is the frightfur package.

My uncle works for Konami, and he said that they're going to add a new archetype called Yoshi, in order to counter Masquerade users.
I really really deprive to se a new hero vid.
In that second duel ik you branded in red on your turn to be funny, but you could've gone on his turn and he wouldn't have gotten the extra draw, you would've kept dramaturge, and you couldve gotten a special summoned aluber with the other despia (not tragedy, i forget its name) which would've searched for a spell you wanted. Or if you wanted to keep aluber in grave for his negate effect you could've sent tragedy to search another copy of aluber or something else.
